iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

For context: Thiel et al. cast themselves as martyrs that have to perform 'necessary evil' to create a 'better' world. They fully believe in 'benevolent autocracy' by their class, so it doesn't register as morally bankrupt to them. Dark Enlightenment shit.

Since the only card left with their voter base now is xenophobia and racism, I fully expect them to play into that for the midterms. I'm not looking forward to that.

I'm not sure if Americans in general are aware of how much their conservative politicians are indistinguishable from a parody of themselves when looking from the outside. A guy named Tommy Tuberville holding a sermon about furry pilots with an mpreg emoji next to him is up there.

Not sure if I got a limited run, but mine is a large bottle with a golden cap. I couldn't resist trying a Ghost Pepper sriracha - it definitely got bite. I think the vinegar is too forward, could have done with something milder. Good pepper & garlic taste behind that, though. Pretty unique.

New geese! Tried the Super Hot: Less sweet and a tad less hot than Blackout. I would put this on fish and the Blackout on duck. I think the Blackout peppers have been allowed to ripen more, if that makes sense. This is nice to have as an option, though.

It's even worse. These platforms allow you to reference persons that aren't even registered there, so anyone uploading a photo of their unregistered friend throws them into the grinder as a data point, too. Profiling like that was what made Facebook big in the first place.

Unfortunately, there is no deletion. Any content ever shared on Twitter or Facebook is theirs to use, that particular clause has been in their EULAs for years. Deactivated accounts, manually deleted posts, 'account killer apps', doesn't matter; all still in their DB.

Oh yeah, Muse AI. Maybe having their dead grandma trying to sell them dick enlargement pills is going to convince enough people that opt-out EULA amendments should be illegal under regulation laws. Also get off Facebook, IG, Threads, Meta etc. Please.

Saw this green waterfall today.

A garden on a downward slope between buildings, completely overgrown with vines that have white blossoms.

Probably just the pet peeve of someone in the bn-class. Opinion pieces in these outlets have been the r/AITA for them for a good while, except it's more of a r/ImTheCenterOfTheUniverse. It's pretty incredible what kind of petty stuff they get worked up about.

IMO Miranda is hard to beat when it comes to interesting terrain features crammed into one place.

Mosaic of the Uranian moon Miranda. Incredibly varied surface terrain, most prominently the L-shaped Inverness Corona.

That's why you have to hit them with the Hyperion jump-scare once in a while.

I've lived without TV for 20 years now and never missed it. Way too much noise to signal. Despite the best efforts by media to turn internet into TV too, at least I still have some agency and an ad blocker.

100%. If I don't emerge from the shower as a sparkling skeleton, what's the point?

Still waiting for Kärcher to make a 2000 PSI shower head, though.

The recent luxury purchase of a new shower head (€7.95) continues to be the best QoL improvement I had in the last two years. Before that it was long handle spoons which gave me a permanent +2 on cooking.

I got an angry nerve in my knee and when I walk it feels like my leg had been amputated and glued back on at a wrong angle. I bet it was those clicky TNG subspace aliens doing a bad job as usual.

TNG robed alien from Schisms about to amputate some Riker.

Those 60s nuclear attack bras seem to be back in fashion, too.
