I don't think people warn aspiring voice actors enough about the daily rejection you will receive in this biz. Couple the rejection with being by yourself most days, and it can become deeply isolating. And very bad for your mental health. Find your people in VO and lean on each other plz. ❤️

As a professional narrator, here are my answers... 1. Non-fiction lends itself really well to author-narrated work. If you have the experience or the skillset, narrating your own fictional (fantasy) work can absolutely work. But I lean pro for both. Not only for quality but for PRODUCTION SPEED...

Is getting into voice acting pointless these days with AI? No. But talent + skill is much more important than it was even 5 years ago. AI can replicate poor VO, especially if it's short-form content. It CANNOT replicate emotional nuance. So, education/training should be your top priority.
