Recently rewatched Oppenheimer because my fiancée hadn’t seen it and, man, it’s wild how much better of a script it has vs. The Odyssey. It’s still characteristically blunt, but the repetition (“Theory can only get you so far” , “A lowly shoe salesman”, “Not convicting, just denying”) actually works

Meaningless gripe of the day - I kinda hate it when a Wikipedia article slips into this casual register. “Couple of extra bucks” is too informal, the tone is supposed to be detached! You are an encyclopedia!

Political/country titles are often super misapplied. Protectorate / Lord Protector is the most common “that’s not what that means” imo, but people also often play fast and loose with, like, Federation/Confederation
