Ownership matters. New research from Persuasion UK following Andy Burnham’s conference speech suggests arguments about economic power, public control and ownership resonate with voters. That conversation should include sharing ownership and putting more power in more hands.

This. People should have access to high-quality evidence led healthcare. Cutting off trans people from that for idealogical reasons is both wrong and dangerous. This decision will cost lives.

When the NHS talk about “concerns regarding referral appropriateness” they mean they want cis people to have more control over our bodies. But I take the much simpler stance that if someone wants to change sex that’s their business. Like abortion or fertility help it should be fast and on demand.

NHS cancelling surgeries for adults even after they’ve already paid for travel + accommodation and waited years to get there. Some were about to be wheeled into theatre! Every manager responsible for this decision must be sacked and every patient paid compensation.

Whether this is true or not I don't know, but one thing I have learnt in my time is to always take Novara Media's reporting with a pinch of salt. Even when the Tories were in power they'd report false rumours as news in order to bash Labour

Co-ops aren’t just a nice-to-have - they’re essential to sustainably rebuild in Ukraine. From Rwanda to Guatemala, co-operative ownership gave divided communities a shared economic stake, denying extraction and clientelism the vacuum they usually fill after conflict.

It's after the fact now, but for future refference, as a candidate you had a right to go in the polling station and declare yourself with the presiding officer there. If you're running a serious campaign its considered good form to do this and thank the team for their work

The problem with outdoor gas stations
A digital illustration of a rural gas station in the early evening. A big dragon with a silly blank stare on her face has landed on the roof of the gas station and build a nest for three blue eggs. On the ground, firefighters shut down the gas station and surround it with explosion warning signs - a nod to dragons' fire-breathing capabilities. A local resident asks to get just a small can of gas, and is denied by a firefighter. Cats wander all throughout the scene, and a distant firefighter pets one. The dragon seems wholly uninterested in breathing fire. Despite being a bird-boned creature, the dragon's weight has caused the roof to start cracking, so it has been reinforced with steel scaffolding. The colors are sunset pinks, glowing yellows, and cyans.

🏡 Housing co-ops work. The problem is that UK law doesn't have a home for them. Without a proper co-operative housing tenure, co-ops have to work to legal structures built for something else, making them harder to set up, harder to scale, and harder to access. Let's change that.

Spent my Monday at the People’s History Museum in Manchester. What a glorious collection of activism. Forever grateful to people who have fought for our rights through history, and forever powered by hope & rage.
Museum sign reads: “Abuse Of Power.
Two hundred years ago
Britain's political system was corrupt and controlled by a few rich men.
Without the right to vote, ordinary people had no power to change their lives.”

I'm delighted that today the majority of the 2016 Trade Union Act was scrapped - a draconian Tory law that was deliberately designed to tie unions up in knots with red tape. Now unions will have more rights to help win better pay and conditions in workplaces.
