Out in Cornwall for a couple of days. The Choughs have been gr8! Also a few Wheatears, lots of Mipits, linnets & a few Ripits. Numbers of Ravens and other corvids &, unfortunately, I also found the victims of a dog attack. Two dead, two wounded sheep. Lots of Fox Moth caterpillars. #UKBirding

Had a stop at Chard Reservoir this a.m. Pleased to see my largest-ever flock of Mandarian ducks! Counted 32. Far away. Even got some flying (almost in focus). I also had excellent views of a male Kingfisher, which was a surprise, as they usually avoid me there. 😂 #UKBirding @dhelliar.bsky.social

I was pleased that half a dozen Yellow Wagtails dropped in quite close to me, on the Glasswort, at Lodmoor on wednesday. They are delightful birds! Also Osprey, Greenshanks, GWE, Dunlin, Godwits, Oystercatchers etc #UKBirding

The juvenile Osprey that has been resident at Seaton Wetlands for a couple of weeks (at least), still doesn't seem keen to leave for the winter. Today it was sitting on a post when I arrived, having recently caught a fish, apparently. #UKBirding

It's set on Evaluative. I think that I had the shutter too high for some of the situations though &in one of my custom settings I couldn't find a way to alter my Exp. comp. Today I'm going over settings! Now I've used the camera a few times I can see what I don't understand! Thanks Robin! 😃

I spent a couple of hours at Chard Reservoir today, as @dhelliar.bsky.social had found a Black Tern on Sunday. The first two hours were frustrating, as it didn't stop flying & covered the whole reservoir. But, finally, it landed in a murky corner for 4 minutes! Fantastic!! My 1st one. #UKBirding

I usually only get a single badger in the garden, so I was pleased to see a couple more last night. I think that these two may be cubs, as there was another one with them behaving more sensibly! Shame the camera got a bit misted. #UKWildlife

Got the bus to Seaton for a wee shopping trip, but decided to try and see the visiting Osprey. So that meant walking at pace half a mile along a busy, noisy road with no pavement.... The things we do......😂 Still, a wobbly, distant video of an Osprey is better than no video at all.......#UKBirding

A gr8 piece. I've never used a thermal imager, but then I haven't found a Long-eared Owl either! Totally understand why people are using them to help locate birds & animals so, once again, it comes down to an individual's behaviour. Do you want to know what's there, or do you want a close-up?
