Had a stop at Chard Reservoir this a.m. Pleased to see my largest-ever flock of Mandarian ducks! Counted 32. Far away. Even got some flying (almost in focus). I also had excellent views of a male Kingfisher, which was a surprise, as they usually avoid me there. 😂 #UKBirding @dhelliar.bsky.social

I was pleased that half a dozen Yellow Wagtails dropped in quite close to me, on the Glasswort, at Lodmoor on wednesday. They are delightful birds! Also Osprey, Greenshanks, GWE, Dunlin, Godwits, Oystercatchers etc #UKBirding

The juvenile Osprey that has been resident at Seaton Wetlands for a couple of weeks (at least), still doesn't seem keen to leave for the winter. Today it was sitting on a post when I arrived, having recently caught a fish, apparently. #UKBirding

I went to Lodmoor, Weymouth a couple of days ago. There was an Osprey hovering & diving on arrival. Also 5 Avocets, Dunlin, Greenshank, Godwits, Kingfisher, GWE. Lots of Clouded Yellows. A Wasp Spider (1st of the year). And an extra bonus - a handful of Yellow Wagtails dropped in. #UKBirding

I spent a couple of hours at Chard Reservoir today, as @dhelliar.bsky.social had found a Black Tern on Sunday. The first two hours were frustrating, as it didn't stop flying & covered the whole reservoir. But, finally, it landed in a murky corner for 4 minutes! Fantastic!! My 1st one. #UKBirding

I usually only get a single badger in the garden, so I was pleased to see a couple more last night. I think that these two may be cubs, as there was another one with them behaving more sensibly! Shame the camera got a bit misted. #UKWildlife

Got the bus to Seaton for a wee shopping trip, but decided to try and see the visiting Osprey. So that meant walking at pace half a mile along a busy, noisy road with no pavement.... The things we do......😂 Still, a wobbly, distant video of an Osprey is better than no video at all.......#UKBirding
