First 3 pages of issue 5! Will Sliney says as this story ends, it needs to feel epic and action packed. It also might not go where readers expect it to. Soule believed he needed to show this moment: Palpatine’s return to the Galaxy & the reaction to it. A moment previously only shown in Fortnite!

I read M*ster of Evil at the beginning of the year and while it was okay it was also a slog and that’s about what I have to say when Vader appears in a story about 99% of the time in recent material (not you, Shadow Lord)

also I get this is Star Wars: the Darth Vader factory, but it’s this weird thing where there’s so much about Vader but nothing interesting is really done with him or it’s extremely predictable. If a Vader story did something new I’d be down to check it out

I need to disclaim that this is a finnrey (or at least adjacent) fic but tbh I got sick of stuff outright ignoring the connection (from f/r shippers) or overly romanticizing it with little/no acknowledgement he was using it to stalk her and that he did to very bad things (from k/r shippers)

The most compelling aspect for me was demonstrating how Rey’s insecurities lead toward TRoS and hinting at the type of order she might create in the future. Also, what kind of Jedi Master she might be, and her strengths and flaws

anyway I thought Legacy was good (with incidentally the villain subplot being the highlight for me) but didn’t hit the mark that makes me overly hyped. That said, the discussions of legacy, the way gender ties into it, and how trauma makes flawed people kept me locked in and imo makes this solid
