As someone that's had to use both Blackboard and Moodle, I can at least say that in Moodle there's always a way to make it do what you want, even if it's clunky. In Blackboard this is extremely not true and it's still clunky.

That's fair. I dropped Lightroom and Photoshop awhile back because I just didn't use them enough to be with the subscription price, but it will be nice to use something with better spot removal and some nicer masking

Beyond just writing code, a good LLM can take the place of a lot of research assistants (clean these data, find some papers on this topic, go through all these by hand the check them, etc) Pretty big win for those of us that don't have RAs in our program tbh

I 100% believe that firms believe this, they purchase some software because they want someone they can sue because I've been hearing this since the 90s But I also think this is dumb, if your backup plan when stuff breaks is to fight Oracle/Microsoft/SAP in court, then you have no backup plan

HR is just some people with a job to do, which someone cleverer than I am once described as "protect the company from it's employees" Obviously they're not your friend but they also aren't automatically your enemy, they just really want you fill out the forms correctly and not harass anyone

I'm a Nikon guy from way back in the film days, so biased, but I think the crop sensor F-Mount bodies are a really good choice of your trying to avoid spending lots of money and you want a viewfinder I would never say that they're small, but they're small enough while having a comfortable grip

I think this is good advice, but also used Canon and Nikon budget DSLRs are a great choice for a casual photographer They take great pictures, accessories are cheap and easy to find, and the cameras and lenses are extremely affordable right now
