My sister-in-law owns a machine I never knew existed… Size of a printer, but turns images into embroidery I saw that tech and, must admit, my jaw hit the floor You know when you suddenly need some tech that you didn’t even know existed five minute before seeing it? Yeah - that feeling 😄

Some people, including family, think #EliteDangerous is just a ‘Computer Game’ Pfft! Yes, there are ‘computer games’, but then there are ‘alternate second life simulations’ (ASLS?) [might need to work on that] To them I’m ‘Dad’ and ‘husband’ But I’m also Cmdr Virtual Tonto (plus an alt or two)

Played #Elite-1984 when I was a kid and dreamed of being a space adventurer when I grew up. Now I get to be a space adventurer in #EliteDangerous I ditched the option to be a grown-up and chose to just be a slightly bigger kid instead. Also ditched a decent head of hair too!

Ah - pc version? Yeah, didn’t have a gaming pc. I was lucky to have an Xbox (a gift) Didn’t get pc until 2022 - after we lost support for the game on Xbox. I was convinced loss of Xbox support was game over for me. I was fortunate to move to pc and I don’t take it for granted. Hard these days.

Thank you Reise My #EliteVersary is in 1yr (Purchased end Sept 2015, played October) Brother beat me to early access & got Cobra MkIV I followed and we played hours together (I dare not tally the hours!) We first played Elite together in '84 in multi-crew (me on flight controls him on weapons) ;o)

I can relate. I was xbox player. For some time, felt I'd never play again. The sense of abandonment hit hard. Had clocked many hours playing Elite with family. Initially I didn't own a pc. Pawned some silver bullets (Lone Ranger ref) and got one for a return to the game. Passion or madness?!

Those situations can be tricky in a regular household. I'm lucky. I have children, plus a goat in the loft, a horse in the kitchen, a shrew in the biscuit barrel, bats in the understairs cupboard, and a family of aardvarks. Sure it's an awkard arrangment, but I always have someone else to blame.

Plenty of Commanders here to throw you a rope and pull you out... ....Though I'm not sure how well a rope works in a black hole. It is a game (like many others) that can lead to a feeling of burnout (don't mind admitting I've had those times. But community is outstanding.

I’ve heard some people describe #EliteDangerous as miles wide and an inch deep. Pfft… No. The depth can be found in the friends you make in the games awesome player community. 10 years in the game and still no less inspired to be ‘paying it forward’ to help new players like others have helped me

Thanks Rheeney - just want to let everyone else know that we all have those feelings sometimes. Loving the content people are posting. Just hope that people who feel a lack of confidence know that I (and others) still have these doubts and hang-ups, regardless of age and game play experience
