Fun fact: That one time I took a class with Axelrod at Michigan he told us the Evolution of Cooperation had initially been rejected by two reviewers with contrasting views: (1) "everyone knows this" and (2) "this can't possibly be true".

One can go pretty deep, of course. But I've found that most people can answer 94% of their questions with just 2 commands and 2 arguments: avg_predictions(model, by="group") avg_comparisons(model, variables="treatment", by="group") Most of the time, I just stop there. It's easy and it's enough.

Thanks! Should be just `vcov="unconditional"` or using the `vcovUnconditiona()` function (similar to sandwich package). Note that it doesn't support everything, but it has good coverage and should raise informative errors.

Big news! 🎉 𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚐𝚒𝚗𝚊𝚕𝚎𝚏𝚏𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚜 1.0.0 for #Rstats is out. It’s a big number and it feels like a big step. I wrote a blog on the challenges of interpreting statistical models, SPEED, cool new features, the future, and a 5 year package development and writing odyssey. arelbundock.com/posts/margin...

The 𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚢𝚝𝚊𝚋𝚕𝚎 0.18.0 📦 for #RStats is out! The new version is faster, has lots of bug fixes, and some beat new features. Check it out if you need a dead simple, ultra-flexible, and dep-free package to draw tables: (interactive) html, typ, tex, pdf, and png. vincentarelbundock.github.io/tinytable

On our family road trip this summer, we accidentally visited the mansion of the first president of GM Canada in Oshawa. As soon as we get through the door, oldest daughter screams: "I've seen this on Murdoch Mysteries!" Big fans of cosy murder mysteries in this house.

Barely related, but I recently learned that my neighbors taught their cats to use the toilet. I thought this was impossible and just an internet myth! (Good luck with the training weekend!)

For sure, but it can be quite difficult to match the rest of a document with a converted html table. In my experience, manuscripts tend to look more polished when the tables are "native." That said, your new package looks super cool. Love the design! I expect it to be very useful to a lot of people!

Typst pitches itself as a LaTeX replacement with instant rendering (which gives you live preview as you type), and a modern-feeling programming language. Docs look clean and simple like markdown, but you can also define ultra-powerful and elegant functions and "show rules" to control everything.

New issue of WiP just arrived and I genuinely can’t decide what to read first — What medicine could be, will farm animals always suffer, what if everything we know about recycling was wrong, a piece about how Thailand was never conquered, daycare pseudoscience.
