[MDZS fic thought, fictional incest, fuck or die, everyone lives but they're not happy about it] I don't remember if I've shared this here before? Anyway, this is my one and only jiangcest thought. Free to a good home, in case anyone wants it.
- JYL gets hit with a sex curse
- it's the time after Sunshot when it's only the three of them and their newly-recruited disciples at Lotus Pier, the Jiang Clan is widely thought to be about to collapse and they can't show any weakness
- clearly, WWX is the only one who can help her here, and he does his best. he works really hard!
- except that, without a golden core, it's impossible for him to keep this up as long as she needs it. and it's not like he can say why, but it's more and more obvious. JC makes a cutting remark about his drinking. WWX nearly does something he would regret forever. the fight is broken off by JYL howling in pain, again.
- the end solution is all three of them naked and up to their necks in a secluded lotus pond, because otherwise JYL starts to burn up, JC and WWX taking turns to fuck her and then catching their breath while the other one's working. All three of them crying of course.
- unspoken: if she happens to get pregnant from this, they are all going to pretend as hard as they can that it can *only* be WWX's baby

@TheBookewyrme yes! Here’s a poem from ~1200 CE that mentions using a walking stick due to ill-health. www.jstor.org/stable/j.ctv369c5z3.21 I’m certain it goes back further than this, but I’m not at my computer right now so can’t do a proper search.
Cautioning Myself, by Lu You (1125-1210)

Hair falling out—it gets tangled in my comb in the morning.
Deserted fields get hoed at dusk.
The arrival of cool weather lets me set aside the round fan.
As my health improves, I use my short walking stick less often.
In pursuing the Way of the sages, I have accomplished little,
And I haven't yet cut off all human ties.
Fortunately, the lonely green lamp is steadfast.
Moving closer to it, I read an unfinished book.

Chapter 14
APPEARANCE AND MANNER

1. When Ts’ao Ts’ao [1] was about to give audience to a Hsiung-nu envoy, since he himself felt that his own figure was insignificant and inadequate to impress a distant state with its virility, he had Ts’ui Yen [2] substitute for him on the throne, while Ts’ao himself, gripping his sword, stood at the head of the dais.

When the audience was ended he ordered a spy to ask the envoy, “What was the Prince of Wei like?”

The Hsiung-nu envoy replied, “The Prince of Wei was refined and pre-possessing to an extraordinary degree. But the man at the head of the dais who was gripping his sword—this was the heroic and virile one.”

When Ts’ao Ts’ao heard this, he had someone overtake and kill this envoy.

Notes:
1. Ts’ao Ts'ao’s physical appearance was short and small, but his
spirit and intelligence shone forth heroically.

2. Ts’ui Yen's voice and appearance were lofty and vital. His eyes and
brows were set far apart and transparent; his beard was four feet long. He was
abundantly endowed with awesomeness and gravity.

Sexy ghost story continued, 2/2. I've read several Chinese stories about female ghosts marrying scholars and/or going to bed with them, but never before seen one where the ghost's father gave her away so respectably! It seems to me that it can't be too […] [Original post on federatedfandom.net]
In midsummer she suffered the frosty blast.
Her glory, now forever dark and quenched,
Her path on earth eternally undone.
Oblivious of Yin and Yang's succession,
Till the wise one's sudden-coming rite.
The meeting superficial; the parting all too swift!
Both wrought through spirits of heaven and earth.
With what can I endow my dearest love?
With this golden bowl you may wean our son.
With love and kindness, from henceforth we part,
Severed and cut, my liver and my spleen!
Ch'ung took the child and the bowl, along with the poem, and suddenly no
longer saw the place where the two carriages had been. He led the child back home,
where everyone, thinking he was the issue of a ghostly liaison, spit at him from a
distance, but his form remained as before. They asked the child, "Who is your
fatherT and the child went directly and clung to Ch'ung's bosom.
At first everyone thought the situation unnatural and evil, but after reading
and circulating the poem, they sighed with wonder at the mysterious communi-
cation between the dead and the living.
Ch'ung went to the market to sell the bowl, raising the price high to prevent a
quick sale, in hopes there might be someone who would recognize it. Out of nowhere
there came an old slave woman who asked Ch'ung where he had gotten the bowl.
She rushed home and reported to her mistress, who was none other than the girl'saunt. When they sent someone (SSe specifies "the child") to see her, it turned out
to be actually so.
She said to Ch'ung, "My niece, the daughter of master of the wardrobe Ts'ui,
died before she was married, and her family and kin grieved for her and presented
her with a golden bowl, which was placed inside her coffin. Today when I saw your
bowl, it resembled it very closely. May I hear how you got the bowl, from
beginning to end?"
Ch'ung replied with the entire story, and she immediately went to visit
Ch'ung's home and greeted the child. The child had the Ts'ui family likeness and
resembled Ch'ung as well.
The aunt said, "My niece was born at the end of the third month, and her
father said, 'Spring is warm and mild (wen). May the child grow up happy (hsiu)
and strong.' Whereupon he gave her the courtesy name Wen-hsiu, Warmth and
Happiness. Wen-hsiu (*uən-xiəu) with finals reversed is yu-hun (*iəu-xuən),
posthumous marriage. The portent of her posthumous marriage was thus prefigured
in her name.
The child subsequently became an honorable personage and was successively
appointed grand warden of several commanderies, at a salary of two thousand
piculs. In all his appointments he left a brilliant record. Later he fathered Lu Chih*
(d. ca. 192), who became president of the Imperial Secretariat under the Later Han.
Chih's son, YO (d. 257), became director of works under the Wei, and top offices
have come down in the family to the present day.

All right, who wants to hear a SEXY GHOST STORY? 👻 This is told in the notes to an anecdote wherein Lu Chih (Lu Zhi: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lu_Zhi_(Jin_d…) insulted someone; that person commented, "Only the son of a ghost would presume to speak as he did." (1/2) #raeShishuoXinyu
The Commentary includes a lengthy tale from the KSCK about Lu Chih's
presumed great-great-grandfather, the issue of a ghostly alliance: Lu Ch 'ung was a man from Fan-yang (Hopei).
Thirty Ii west of his home was the tomb of a certain chamberlain, Ts'ui (Ts'ui
Shao-fu). One day before the arrival of winter Ch'ung went out of his home toward
the west to hunt. He saw a musk deer (chang), and raising his bow, shot and
wounded it. The deer fell, then got to its feet again. Ch'ung kept pursuing it,
unconscious of the distance, until suddenly he saw a village gate, like that of a
mansion. Inside the gate was a majordomo, who called out, "There's a guest before
the gate!"Ch'ung asked, "Whose mansion is this?"
He replied, "It belongs to the chamberlain."
Ch'ung said, "My clothes are a mess. How am I fit to see an honorable person?"
Immediately someone welcomed him, holding out a robe and a new suit of
clothes. Ch'ung put them on and found they fit his body perfectly. Then he went in
to see the chamberlain and revealed his name.
After the wine and meats had made several rounds, Ts'ui said, "I recently
received a letter from your late father contracting a marriage for you with my little
daughter, and I've only been waiting for you to show up." Whereupon he held up
the letter to show Ch'ung. Although Ch'ung was small when his father had died,
nevertheless, when he saw his father's handwriting, he heaved a sigh and was
speechless.
Ts'ui then gave orders inside to have his daughter decked out in wedding
finery, and had Ch'ung proceed to the eastern apartment. When Ch'ung arrived, his
wife had already alighted from her carriage and was standing at the head of the mat.
They bowed to each other.
When three days had passed, Ch'ung returned to see Ts'ui, who said, "You
may go home now. My daughter shows signs of having conceived. If she bears a
son, she'll return him to you. If she bears a daughter, she'll keep her and raise her
herself."
He then gave orders to those outside to prepare the carriage and escort the
guest on his way. Ts'ui himself escorted him to the gate, held his hands, and wept. The feelings at parting were no different from those ofliving men. He provided
him with another change of clothes and a set of bedding. Ch 'ung then mounted the carriage and departed with the speed of lightning.
In a flash he had arrived home. When the members of his family saw him,
they had mixed feelings of sorrow and joy. As they questioned him about what had happened, he realized that Ts'ui was a deceased person, and that he had entered his tomb. As he thought back on it, he was filled with remorse.
Four years after that, on the third day of the third month, as he was amusing
himself beside the shore of a river, suddenly he saw two calf-drawn carriages, now floating, now submerged. After they had come up on the bank, Ch'ung went and opened the rear door of the first carriage and saw Ts'ui's daughter with her three-year-old son riding with her. When Ch'ung saw her he was overjoyed and wanted to grasp her hand, but the girl raised her hand and pointed to the rear carriage, saying, "My father wants to see you."
Ch'ung went over to give his greetings to the chamberlain, and returned to ask for news. The girl, carrying the child in her arms, returned him to Ch'ung. In addition she gave him a golden bowl. As they parted she also presented a poem,
which went:
Brilliantly shining, the magic mushroom's substance,
Radiant and fair, how flourishing it grows!
The flower's beauty, soon to be revealed,
By goodly portents showed a divine wonder.
Harboring her splendor, not yet in full bloom,

8. Duke Kao-kuei (Ts'ao Mao, r. 254--260) had just deceased (Footnote: i.e., he had been murdered.) and those inside
and outside the court were in an uproar. Ssu-ma Chao asked the personal atten-
dant, Ch'en T'ai, "By what means shall we quiet them down?"
T'ai said, "The only way would be to kill Chia Ch'ung, (Footnote: Who had given the order for his death.) and thus make
amends to the people of the realm."
Chao said, "Might we not take someone less important?"
He replied, "I only see taking someone more important, not less.Mao then led several hundred young boys and servants, who came out
clamoring and shouting. Ssu-ma Chao's younger brother, Chou, who was a cavalry
commandant in the Palace Guard, entered the palace and met Mao at the Eastern
Gate, where courtiers were wont to park their carriages. Shouted at from left and
right, Chou's forces ran in panic.
The commander of the Central Guard, Chia Ch'ung, was the next to resist
Mao, fighting beneath the Southern Watchtower. Mao himself was brandishing a
sword, and his hosts were about to retreat. The crown prince's bodyguard, Ch'eng
Chi, asked Ch'ung, "The situation is critical; what shall we do?"
Ch'ung replied, "His Lordship (Ssu-ma Chao) has been keeping you fellows
on for just such an emergency as today's. There's no need to ask questions." Chi
went immediately forward and thrust Mao through. The blade came out at his back. When Ts'ao Mao deceased, Ssu-ma Chao, on hearing the news, hurled
himself on the ground and cried, "What will the people of the realm think of me?"
Whereupon he called together his officials to consult about the situation. Chao, his
tears streaming, asked Ch'en T'ai, "How would you advise me?"
T'ai replied, "Your Excellency's brilliance reaches through many generations,
your merit covers the realm. I think you should unite your tracks with the ancients
and extend your excellence to posterity. If someday there were the record of an
incident involving the murder of a ruler, wouldn't it be indeed regrettable? Quickly
have Chi a Ch 'ung beheaded, and you might even yet clear yourself."
Chao said, "But Ch'ung simply can't be killed. Think of another plan."
T'ai replied in a stem voice, "My thoughts only go beyond this. Less severe
plans are not worth recommending." After returning home, he took his own life.
WSCC: When Ch'en T'ai urged the generalissimo to execute Chia Ch'ung,
the latter replied, "Think of something else." T'ai responded, "Are you trying to
make Ch'en T'ai make a second statement?" Whereupon he spit blood and died.

Reading this book has already paid off: this morning, I used this anecdote to win an argument with my brother. <3 #RaeShishuoXinyu
58. The grand tutor, Ssu-ma Tao-tzu, once asked Hsieh Hsüan, "In Hui-tzu's
'five cartloads of books,' why was there not one word which entered the realm
of the Mysterious (hsuan)?"
Hsieh replied, "Undoubtedly it must be that his subtler points were never
transmitted. "

Footnote: Chuang-tzu XXXIII: Hui Shih was full of
formulas, and his books filled five cartloads, but his Way was paradoxical and
contradictory, and his words wide of the mark. . . . He claimed, "An egg has
feathers; a chicken three legs; horses lay eggs; a dog may be a sheep; ... fire
doesn't bum; ... eyes don't see; ... a tortoise is longer than a snake; frogs have
tails; a white dog is black; linked rings may be separated; ... " He could outtalk
other men's mouths, but could not get the consent of their minds. This, it seems,
was the limitation of the debaters.

Manhua page as described. Zhang Ping and Chen Chou are kneeling in the courtroom of the Ministry of Justice with their hands manacled. Beside them is the tearful Madam Jin, who has been giving her statement.

When Zhang Ping speaks, there is a closeup on his face, followed by a widerpanel showing their positions in the court. In the final panel, Chen Chou looks terribly downhearted at his best friend’s speech. Get used to it, Chen Chou bb, he won’t get any better.

Sincerely not sure if I’ll finish this, given how things have been going, but I very much want it to exist in the world and I wrote 500 words today. #wipwednesday on a Monday, but it’s a public holiday here, so time is extra fake. From the start of a Xue […] [Original post on federatedfandom.net]
Xue Yang rolled his eyes. "It's a fierce
corpse, Xuanyu," he said. "Right now,
he doesn't give a shit what he's
wearing, and if you pulled those nails
out of his head, he'd be too busy trying
to kill you to care then either."

He hoped so, anyway. The long iron
nails, inscribed with spells, were a tool
he'd still been playing around with
when the thrashing, chain-bound
Ghost General had been thrown into
their workshop like a surprise birthday
gift. They'd shut him up all right, as
soon as Xue Yang had hammered them
into the back of his skull---but at some
point he was going to have to pull them
out and find out if he'd just mashed the
brain of history's greatest work of
demonic cultivation into porridge.

Pls enjoy manhua Zhang Ping absolutely acing this job interview to write a play for a theatre troupe. Troupe manager: That’s it, we’ll write a ghost story! Chen Chou: Right! Zhang-xiong, you’re the best at ghost stories! Zhang Ping: I’ve always thought… […] [Original post on federatedfandom.net]
Manhua page as described. The characters are wearing historical dress and sitting together in a restaurant. After Zhang Ping makes his statement, Chen Chou and the theatre troupe leaders (a married couple) stare at him, thunderstruck.

The other day I discovered that the 𰻝 biáng character used in biangbiang noodles (𰻝𰻝面) has been included in Unicode. Hooray! (Actually, it was added in 2020, before I'd started learning Mandarin or even heard of biangbiang noodles, but I'm happy to learn […] [Original post on federatedfandom.net]

Me: "All right, fine. Fish have four fins. I can't argue with that." Girlfriend: "Right!" Me: "But answer me this, hm? How many legs does a bird have?" 3/3
Traditional Chinese character for bird. Its top half looks a little bit like the head of a bird, if you squint. The bottom half is the same as the horse character, with a tail and four 'leg' dots.Simplified Chinese character for bird. The 'leg' dots have been replaced by a horizontal stroke, the top half is simplified, and it looks just like a cute bird sitting on a branch.

My girlfriend: "Ugh. Simplified characters are so annoying. Look at the poor horse! It's supposed to *look* like a horse." Me: "It still kind of looks like a horse." Girlfriend: "They took its legs away!" Me: "It's a... skateboard horse. A hover horse." 1/3
Traditional Chinese character for horse, with four 'legs', a tail, and a flowing mane.Simplified Chinese character for horse: the same general shape, but with only three strokes. The 'legs' have been replaced with a horizontal stroke.

🤔 我觉得这次Google Translate翻译得比iOS Translation好一点儿
Translation of previous post by iOS:

In class tonight, my friend couldn't understand the word "receive". I almost couldn't help saying to her, "That's the subject of beauty, don't you remember?" Drowned in laughter.Translation by Google Translate:

couldn't understand the
character "受" (shòu). I almost
couldn't help but tell her, "That's
the 'k' in BL (Boys' Love)
stories, don't you remember?"
It cracked me up.

A quick how-to for accessing images that were hosted on Discord! (It's not super complex, but I always find screenshots encouraging. 😄) 1. Find a work missing its images (like this one by hwaths, a gift for me that I love) […] [Original post on federatedfandom.net]
A work on AO3 that should have images, but all you see are blank rectangles where they were. The user has right-clicked on one of these rectangles, bringing up a context menu. The option 'Copy image address' is highlighted.Screenshot of Discord, showing the bottom of the list of servers on the left-hand side. There is a plus icon with the tooltip 'Add a Server'.Screenshot of my personal Discord server, a channel called saving-images. I'm writing a new message. It contains a link to an AO3 fic and two links to images hosted on Discord.Screenshot of the saving-images channel. I've posted the message with the image links. Discord has recognised them and put previews of the two images in the channel.

The first image is fanart of Su She and Jin Guangyao. The second is of Xue Yang and Jin Guangyao. I've blurred that one because one of the characters has visibly been beaten up.

Merry Christmas! Finally, it’s time to revisit the 2021 #TUBS Christmas photoshoot! Truly, the most festive time of the year. #TheUntamed #CQL #cdrama #YuBin #LiBowen #ZhengFanxing #Christmas
Collage of all six TUBS Christmas photos, fully captioned in the individual images.Yu Bin wearing a rumpled suit, a Santa hat, and a gigantic red bow apparently attached to his back. He is holding one hand, wearing a huge knitted Christmas mitten, up to his face and attempting to look sultrily at the camera over it.Li Bowen as some kind of Christmas treat zombie: he is wearing a red suit and tie with a pattern of gingerbread cookies, two gigantic candy canes are coming over his shoulders like wings, and there are flames behind him. His skin has an undead pallor to it; his pupils are golden and reflective. There is a weird demonic mask sitting in his hair, about the size of a potato.Zheng Fanxing as a Christmas tree. It’s a decorated tree with his head and shoulders awkwardly shopped into it.
