Cursor was doing well for me for a while but seemed like every update it got worse.

Bart @vikingnomad.bsky.social · 26/06/2025

Nope, but maybe I will. This thing got unusable almost overnight.

@cursor.com.web.brid.gy in the last round of updates y'all hijacked my CMD e into some joinky paid service. Not a great experience.

People are so damn weird. Why would you use speaker phone by yourself in the middle of an airport? #travel

Who will deliver X for least to the guy down the road. And soon enough they won't need people for that either.

Bart @vikingnomad.bsky.social · 03/06/2025

At first I thought it was kinda neat. And from a perspective it very much is an amazing thing. But then I noticed that the delivery demographic. Well, let's say it's easy to profile. And then it hit me. It's a race to the bottom for human labor unless it is very closely checked.

Bart @vikingnomad.bsky.social · 03/06/2025

I've been observing the delivery system in these major European cities. It's pretty interesting. You can get anything delivered to your door within a few minutes by an army of people on bikes, scooters etc. While I was typing I whipped up my phone and took a pic, caught 2. #travel

Daughter flew back to Utah this past weekend to remember a friend that ended their life. Too tragic all around. I know in the moment it can be so dark but please remember that those that love you would gladly take up your burden if they knew.

Bart @vikingnomad.bsky.social · 01/06/2025

If you somehow stripped the thick veneer of bullshit from Vegas and gave it some real history, architecture, and culture, you'd get Prague.

Right right, I was trying to make a comparison to how incomprehensible it would be to not have the inner dialog. But yes, there are layers and layers on top of it. Would be fun to have a way to experience someone else's state of consciousness.

I haven't been posting Boost Blue updates, because I've been building a lot of stuff a Bluesky client needs, but that isn't exciting. But that is over! Boost Blue is currently in review with both app stores! Next up is adding repost muting and bookmarks! #buildinpublic #atproto #flutter

I am kinda confused. Not everyone's brain is constantly in motion? This sounds like the internal monologue thing. I can't imagine not having that, pretty much constant unless I am practicing meditation. And then it's an almost unbearable amount of sensory information instead

Walked around a concentration camp today. Heavy stuff. Really wish the average person took more interest in history, might be in a better place today.

I've noticed a bias to agree with you even when you're obviously wrong, then it tries to build a response that backs up your wrongness.

If there is one defining quality in a person, it's their level of curiosity. Bullshit and dogma can't withstand curiosity. I truly believe curious people stay mentally young much longer as well.

@davidho.bsky.social I'd be curious what advice you'd give in how a middle class non-science grad could most help in the furthering of scientific knowledge? Simply donate what money we can afford? Feels like I could do something better 🤷‍♂️ what could I build you?

Added a bunch of fun features. Hiding under a premium tag for the moment, if anyone wants access just give me a shout. First, custom slug URLs. Second, multiple personas, see picker at the right in the header. Oh and I added a "Looking for work" flag with search priority and banner. #buildinpublic

Say it after me: Chat GPT is not a search engine. It does not scan the web for information, it just generates statistically likely sentences. You cannot use it a search engine, or as a substitute for searching. Now. Please never use an LLM for information searches ever again.

Got the first pass of the marketing home page done. Building a responsive site definitely has some "wack-a-mole" problems, but it's close. Also ran into some interesting issues trying to get a valid json response from OpenAI when parsing resume files. whoevery.com/personas/35f... #buildinpublic

The recession is coming, folks: My wife bought us off-brand dyer sheets. No more pictures of seascapes or teddy bear mascots and rainbows on the box. It’s just a black & white drawing of a man alone in a room, sitting at a table with a Bible and a gun.
