Nothing like a churning organ/person to wake you up (I'm assuming since I have no experience). For my wife it was ~11pm when she was trying to get to sleep since we had our twins to wake us at 5am But we're doing well w/ our new family of 5! Hope you & your little growth are doing well too!

A recent example is a 'baby logger' for tracking feedings & diapers Focused on the data structure (so I can play w/ data) & the AI wrapped it w/ a UI my wife can use too Compared to when I had my twins, I never spent time to build my logger intuitive enough for it to used consistently

I think @3blue1brown.com has it right w/ AI coding We're funnily enough at a point where understanding isn't required to build. But doesn't mean we can't focus on understanding for its own sake My projects would die in the UI. But now I focus on the inner stuff & still have it usable for others

I would strongly suggest that It's a lot to think about. I don't think my wife is planning to ever read it after I gave her a quick warning But the rest of the book I think is good! The author does a good job warning the reader in case you want to skip over a sensitive part

Recently read Dark Archives with a friend after their suggestion Interesting history on human-skin bound books— surprised how mostly made around 1800s but also makes sense. Again, history points to a privilege class that had difficulty humanizing others side note: first ebook I read for some time

I think How to Keep House While Drowning is a nice little booklet to help with some down-to-basics strats on just trying to get through life I think it reads well as a quick guide over a cover-to-cover read. Even if you're not 'struggling', I'm pretty sure anyone can get something from this book

My wife suggested I read Birth Vibes since our 3rd little one was on their way Not her first pregnancy but still a helpful book (especially since we never did a non-pandemic birth). It was chill & vibes were reassuring— author is super fun & puts you in a good headspace :D

Scream with Me was another read w/ a friend Interesting book but don't know if I completely agree with idea that the horror movies were necessarily inspired the movie, the set of movies discussed do seem to have at least hit the public consciousness during the same time as related social issues

Finally got to reading Cultish and this is another book where I was sort hoping for more linguistics haha But it was a very interesting book & confirmed what I had feelings about Crossfit from the 20-teens (reminded me of this old video: youtu.be/pqb9pBJweVU)

Technically, I was rereading The Martian but this time I did it with a friend for our mini 'book club'. This was after watching the movie (read it back in May) & I feel that the book, the audiobook, & the movie are all great in their own special ways :D

Catching up on my reading log…. Back in April, read Shady Characters which was a fun little vacation read about punctuation. I think the ☞ manicule might be my new favorite

Totally feel you on this, especially since I also have been 'purposefully individual contributor' AI use definitely makes me feel less like an IC like I've enjoyed. Starting to understand where I'm ok with AI doing the brunt of the work & what I protect w/ me doing so I can get the most out of it
