A recent example is a 'baby logger' for tracking feedings & diapers Focused on the data structure (so I can play w/ data) & the AI wrapped it w/ a UI my wife can use too Compared to when I had my twins, I never spent time to build my logger intuitive enough for it to used consistently

Daily Summary: Four dashboard cards show aggregated totals for the day: Breastfed (133 min total across left and right sides), Pumped (54 mL total, noting 45 min pumped and 100 mL Haakaa), Diapers (5 stool and 5 urine), and Formula (140 mL).
Today's Timeline: Detailed chronological activity logs tagged by Emily Geislinger. The 11:33 PM log documents a combined session of nursing, pumping, Haakaa collection, formula feeding, and a stool diaper. The 5:30 PM log lists nursing duration per side, bottle amounts, a wet and dirty diaper, and a note describing a mid-feed diaper change.
Navigation: The bottom bar features tabs for Dashboard, History, Stats, and Settings, centered around a large circular plus (+) quick-log button.

Wife's hooked up to monitor contractions wife to me: oh good, you have data occupy you me: 100%— oh look at that, this one's lasting a lot longer! her: oh yeah it's basically the same thing 🙄 (but seriously we both laughed because I couldn't help myself peeking at the data last time) #dataBS

Still wild to me I can have AI help me put together a full app so quickly Put together this little web app in under an hour today. Basically helped recreate what I made a while ago to include linked text, quoted posts & such. But man makes little frontends which was almost my biggest hang-up

Recently read Dark Archives with a friend after their suggestion Interesting history on human-skin bound books— surprised how mostly made around 1800s but also makes sense. Again, history points to a privilege class that had difficulty humanizing others side note: first ebook I read for some time
A book cover featuring a textured, burnt-orange background overlaid with a detailed, antique-style dark illustration of human skeletal remains—including a skull, ribcage, and skeletal hands—interwoven with botanical branches, flowers, and insects. Across the center, the title "Dark Archives" is printed in prominent, stylized gold Gothic lettering. Directly underneath is the subtitle in smaller uppercase gold text: "A Librarian's Investigation into the Science and History of Books Bound in Human Skin." The author's name, "Megan Rosenbloom," appears centered at the bottom in a clean, sans-serif gold typeface.

I think How to Keep House While Drowning is a nice little booklet to help with some down-to-basics strats on just trying to get through life I think it reads well as a quick guide over a cover-to-cover read. Even if you're not 'struggling', I'm pretty sure anyone can get something from this book
holding a hardcover book with a white dust jacket, viewed inside a vehicle beside a window. The top of the cover features the title Careless People in large black serif lettering, followed by the subtitle A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism. Centered below is a rounded blue icon-like shape showing a folded geometric peak rising from its top, with A Memoir written in handwritten script in the lower corner. The author's name, Sarah Wynn-Williams, is printed along the bottom edge, with ambient light and subtle colored reflections catching the glossy surface.

My wife suggested I read Birth Vibes since our 3rd little one was on their way Not her first pregnancy but still a helpful book (especially since we never did a non-pandemic birth). It was chill & vibes were reassuring— author is super fun & puts you in a good headspace :D
cover displays the author's name, Jen Hamilton, along with her nursing credentials (BSN, RN, CEN, RNC-OB), in coral and blue lettering. The title, birth vibes, is featured in large lowercase letters textured with soft pastel gradients of pink, orange, teal, and blue. Beneath the title is the subtitle, Stories and Strategies for an Empowered Birth, followed by an endorsement quote from author Eve Rodsky near the bottom edge.

Scream with Me was another read w/ a friend Interesting book but don't know if I completely agree with idea that the horror movies were necessarily inspired the movie, the set of movies discussed do seem to have at least hit the public consciousness during the same time as related social issues
Holding book— the cover features the title Scream with Me in large, distressed red block letters across a cream background, followed by the subtitle Horror Films and the Rise of American Feminism (1968–1980) and the author's name, Eleanor Johnson. Interspersed between the text are three horizontal cut-out strips showing high-contrast, black-and-white close-ups of wide, frightened eyes, with a small yellow sticker visible on the top-left edge of the spine.

Was on my to-read list longer than it should've been but had finally gotten to Careless People And I don't think I have anything new to say that wasn't already said before— just wow & also, unfortunately nothing in there I don't find surprising

Finally got to reading Cultish and this is another book where I was sort hoping for more linguistics haha But it was a very interesting book & confirmed what I had feelings about Crossfit from the 20-teens (reminded me of this old video: youtu.be/pqb9pBJweVU)
hand holding the book Cultish: The Language of Fanaticism by Amanda Montell. The cover design features the title in bold black lettering against a white background, framed by colorful, winding retro ribbon graphics in red, purple, green, and blue. In the center sits an illustration of a vintage-style flying saucer. A blurb by Molly Ringwald appears in the top-left corner, and sunlight through a vehicle window illuminates the background

Technically, I was rereading The Martian but this time I did it with a friend for our mini 'book club'. This was after watching the movie (read it back in May) & I feel that the book, the audiobook, & the movie are all great in their own special ways :D

Catching up on my reading log…. Back in April, read Shady Characters which was a fun little vacation read about punctuation. I think the ☞ manicule might be my new favorite
A hand in a black sleeve holds a bright red book upright above an outdoor wooden deck railing. The cover features a large, stylized pilcrow (¶) symbol in white and charcoal gray with the text: "Shady Characters: The Secret Life of Punctuation, Symbols & Other Typographical Marks" followed by the author's name, "Keith Houston." In the out-of-focus background are dense green trees, garden shrubs, a shingled roof, and a wooden gazebo.

Python Release Python 3.15.0rc1
The official home of the Python Programming Language

This is a candidate preview of Python 3.15

This release, 3.15.0rc1, is the first of two planned candidate releases. Entering the release candidate phase, only reviewed code changes which are clear bug fixes are allowed between this release candidate and the final release.

The next release of Python 3.15 will be 3.15.0rc2, scheduled for 2026-09-01.

There will be no ABI changes from this point forward in the 3.15 series, and the goal is that there will be as few code changes as possible.

Call to action
We strongly encourage maintainers of third-party Python projects to prepare their projects for 3.15 during this phase, and publish Python 3.15 wheels on PyPI to be ready for the final release of 3.15.0, and to help other projects do their own testing. Any binary wheels built against Python 3.15.0 release candidates will work with future versions of Python 3.15. As always, report any issues to the Python bug tracker.

Please keep in mind that this is a preview release and while it’s as close to the final release as we can get it, its use is not recommended for production environments.

Core team: time to work on documentation now
Are all your changes properly documented?
Are they mentioned in What’s New?
Did you notice other changes with insufficient documentation?
Major new features of the 3.15 series, compared to 3.14

Maybe but I wouldn't jump to that right away— 'students' made sense for tpu-info since it already had a strong weekday-weekend frequency You got me digging at open-spiel's data & looks more like it coincides w/ May update(s): pypi.org/project/open... Interestingly it's captured most by Python 3.13
A line chart titled "Daily Download Quantity of open-spiel package - Python Minor". The x-axis represents the Date, ranging from December 22 (12-22) to June 15 (06-15), and the y-axis represents Downloads, ranging from 0 to over 15,000. A legend lists various Python minor versions (from 3.6 to 3.15, plus Null) corresponding to different colored lines.

The data shows that version 3.12 (green line) dominates for the first few months, steadily fluctuating between 2,000 and 7,500 downloads. The most significant anomaly is a sudden, massive spike for version 3.13 (red line) in early May, reaching nearly 18,000 downloads. Following this peak, version 3.13 remains highly volatile but at a noticeably higher baseline, frequently competing with or surpassing version 3.12. The majority of the other Python versions remain consistently near zero throughout the entire timeline.

Was showing a coworker the number of downloads for this package I'm now in charge of & explaining that it clearly has a weekday-weekend pattern but I can't figure out why numbers significantly dropped this month Then I realized the root cause— the classic "students are on summer break" #databs
A line chart titled "Daily Download Quantity of tpu-info package - Overall". The x-axis represents the Date, ranging from December 22 (12-22) to June 15 (06-15), and the y-axis represents Downloads, ranging from 0 to 120,000. A legend indicates two categories: "With_Mirrors" (blue) and "Without_Mirrors" (orange). The visible data shows a highly volatile zig-zag pattern, frequently oscillating between valleys of roughly 20,000 and peaks up to 120,000 downloads, before experiencing a sharp, sustained drop to below 20,000 downloads starting in late May.

a dark tmux window split half. Top half is a python client with a chat and the bottom half is part of agy (Antigravity CLI) with details of artifacts (include tasks).

Top half shows text:
[11:07:17] (venv) chat-python-client $ python client.py "${WEB_SOCKET}"
Choose your terminal nickname: world

The most minor of spoiler warning for The Martian gotta say 'well actually, fish are just a social construct so...'

LOG ENTRY: SOL 61

How come Aquaman can control whales? They're mammals! Makes no sense.

Whenever I see all those billboards in the Bay, I always think of the HBO show 'Silicon Valley' I would've loved to see what those writers would do with today's current 'comedy material'
From the TV show 'Silicon Valley', a billboard of a person playing an acoustic guitar and the words in big yellow lettering 'I AM PIED PIPER'

Meme from Arthur where white bunny (Baxter) with clothes sits at computer with text " you really think someone would do that, just go on the internet and tell lies?" but with "tell lies crossed out in red and white text that says "extrude text"

Was doing some fiddling w/ ML for fun where I wanted to test on a TPU and it's wild to me to remember how freely & easily accessible it is to get an accelerator chip is these days Hard to believe anyone can just open up Colab or Kaggle and start coding away on a notebook w/ a GPU or TPU for free
Colab "change runtime type"

Runtime type: python 3
Hardware accelerator options
CPU, T4 GPU, v5e-1 TPU.
Greyed options: H100 GPU, G4 GPU, A100 GPU, L4 PGU, v6e-1 TPUKaggle notebook settings opened to accelerator dropdown. Options of None, GPU T4 x2, GPU P100, TPU v5e-8

how could I forget these (one of my twins says the one on the right is their 'favorite physics books'— you can tell that it's been well loved)
Holding two books. Left book "Astrophysics for babies" by Chris Ferrie and Julia Kregeno. Right book "Quantum physics for babies" by Chris Ferrie
