Louise Erdrich is so good, it’s easy to take for granted how good she is. By which I mean great, of course.
The cover of Louise Erdrich’s book of stories, Python’s Kids. The cover shows the book’s title and the author’s name in green ink. A gold and blue python-like design flows over a black background.

NYU Langone added to the long list of cowards who decided denying children healthcare was preferable to opposing a fascist administration (in court cases they would probably have won). It’s such a long list by now. So many betrayals. Fuck them all.

Been watching Twin Peaks with out 15 year old. We just reached Season two, episode seven. The show still hits hard, both for him and for me, especially this one.
A white horse stands in a suburban living room. A lamp is on. The curtains of the room are drawn. The atmosphere is eerie. The name of the store appears in neon green letters, TWIN PEAKS. The name of the episode floats beneath that, “Lonely Souls.”

In Los Angeles for a conference (Televerse). Treated myself to dinner and a cocktail and I’m feeling quite grateful for good things I get to enjoy.
A photo of a cocktail glass, bourbon based, with an ice cube that’s branded with the name of the restaurant, Sendero. A yellow cup also sits on the table. The view of Los Angeles from a restaurant. The high rises of downtown LA are in the foreground and the mountains rise in the distance.

On the dinner table there’s a bottle of Pelligrino, a yellow mug, a plate of limes, a cocktail and the pages of a book, The Weird and the Eerie by Mark Fisher. You can’t see the title in the photo.
