Oh they def go ham! It's very gross & tragic but also campy which I personally really like lol. I feel like even if they'd wanted to, the studio prob wouldn't have let them get a way with a darker ending.

Patient body lies on medical table. The body wears scrubs and black briefs. It’s been stabbed with 7 16g needles on each thigh, 7 16g needles on it’s collarbone, 7 16g needles on it’s neck, 14g 4 needle button on the throat, 7 16g needles in the forehead, 2 14g 3 needle button on each cheek of the face, and a few extra 14 g needles for good luck. All the needles except the buttons and forehead are stitched together with thin jack chain and pulled taught upwards. Each chain is weaved through bigger chain links inside a diabolical chain web on the rig above the body. The patients skin is incredibly elastic.
