Like a jar of pickles hastily jammed onto a too-full shelf in your heart. At some point, you’re gonna need to open the fridge door and those grief pickles are going to tumble out and shatter all over the floor. 2493
Bas G at Vesperholm @vesperholm.com · 31/08/2026It’s good to, sometimes, when you feel up for it, open the door and eat a pickle. It’s the only way to lighten the load on that shelf. 130

Bas G at Vesperholm @vesperholm.com · 29/08/2026I came in right at the end of 3.5 and switched to 4e pretty quickly. Then to Labyrinth Lord once we realized how involved combat procedures are in 4e. I haven’t tried WoD. What’s your favourite thing about it? 210
Bas G at Vesperholm @vesperholm.com · 29/08/2026That genuinely depends on how you define an RPG. Hero Quest when I was a kid, or D&D 3.5 when I was grown. Bas G at Vesperholm @vesperholm.com · 14/08/2026300 characters isn’t enough for nuance. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with offensive spells. But I love a game that encourages players to be creative with their actions rather than limiting them to prescribed effects. 120
Bas G at Vesperholm @vesperholm.com · 14/08/2026I’ve been thinking about Gandalf a lot lately. He used very limited magic in creative and highly effective ways. He works as a character because he wasn’t a glass cannon. He had a sword and he knew how to use it. He was also a trickster. I’d much rather be Gandalf than a glorified laser gun. 130
Bas G at Vesperholm @vesperholm.com · 14/08/2026I’m a fan of limited-effect spells that a mage can use in any way they can imagine. Like a spell that temporarily turns a target’s feet to stone. Lots of problem-solving applications! 110
