THROW YOUR HEART AHEAD OF YOU AND CATCH IT
for Benjamin Satterley
i am tired of wrestlers dying too young.
for each year & its breathless crawl to continue while they are now moored to damp soil. where their bodies cannot feel the sear of spine to canvas i am tired of being told their bodies are incapable of truth of the damages they wager against their flesh & the flesh of others to be farce & circumstance.
the arena is only a house of mirrors to those that let it. when a man in air twists his torso into cyclone it is only through faith we know he will land every time. but tonight
just as
other nights before & all the ones we hope to avoid after i bite into my tears alongside thousands of other beloveds & spectators.
tonight i am not alone in this mourning.

it is a near impossible task to trace your outline on our desires
how
the precise arc a body can make is both
volatile & beautiful;
what it means
to be both bastard & gentle; for sport to be more than what outsiders make it;
& we try anyway. we speak & anchor our voices to each other.
may every friend we meet become our harbors. may every memory be a ship rivering us home.

Having to still go to class and do things I’m like. I wonder if people around me understand that I’m so sad because of a wrestler. like this kind of grief feels really unexplainable

what stands out to me is what an inspiration pac was to the artists in this fandom; whether silly or serious he was the kind of character that just captured your imagination and made you wanna pick up the pencil. what an amazing thing to be

Andy was a gentle & kind mountain of a man. He looked like he could throw you through a wall (he could if he wanted!) but was so warmhearted & soft spoken. I would affectionately call him father & we immediately bonded over our love of dogs. He will be forever missed.

reposting this because I can and I wanna

THEY'RE CALLED THE GOLDEN LOVERS
After an especially grueling first match, Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi decided they did not want to wrestle against each other, but wrestle together. While the company pitched they call themselves "The Golden Brothers", Omega and ibushi chose the tag team name "The Golden #Lovers".
& it's unfathomable how often a hand's devotion is mistaken for distance.
that to press a mouth to hollow of wrist
is being too read into-
actually it's more like
they're best friends
did you know they train together
but they're just super close.
is it friendly that Omega first saw Ibushi draped behind screen & fissures
& couldn't imagine the movement of breath
without this man's fingers to guide it?
life is not worth the light it daily spills
unless he could feel him
unstoppable mountain & feverish
against him.
this is not to deride the power of friendship
despite the cliché
but why is it offered as a way out against
the very real existence
of a man fucking a man everyone's already watching two men grip
each other in front of swarms
of eyes
lie back in a ring
what's one step further
what does a man contorted with grief
unable to bridge the length of his longing
to his beloved
look like to you

to glance upward & see him through
the dapple five fingers make.
but it doesn't matter how others un-name them try to rip the seams
threaded to their bodies.
everyone replays the scene
where they hold each other
in the center of an arena two weeping loons breathless against their lover's neck
the type of relief that comes only after tilted years of absence.
want is the balcony they leap off of
all for the brief moment for a fall to become a closeness to God.

Really interesting contrast between last all in and the tearful euphoria at hangman winning to this all in and the devastation at ospreay kicking out of the owa to win the belt
