What these people are unaware of is that getting the game running is basically the first step of the journey and not the end. This is why I argue that as far as recomps go, AI hasn't provided any sort of speedup. Making a barebones recompilation was always easy and required very little time.

gen ai doesn't even use as much water per-prompt as people keep parroting. i don't bring this up to discard the point of environmental impact entirely but it's a shame that people are more pondering the ethics of using gen ai when you should be rejecting it at principle from a colonial perspective

This is an excellent article summing up a lot of the thoughts I've had since the news dropped. As a survivor of sexual assault but also as a leftist who believes in accountabilty and rehabilitation, the discourse I've witnessed has been a pretty wild ride.
