the only pushback i have with this class is the strong claim that individual choice/activism "isn't effective" for addressing climate change. sure, it's relevant that most people have to rely on fuel-based vehicles, and that recycling plastic isn't going to erase its pollution.

#vegan corn and squash soup, with vegan butter on bread the soup literally has only corn and squash, with the broth from boiling the foods. and it was fucking amazingly good!! seasoned with salt and pepper to taste butter isn't oil-based but made with cauliflower!

#veganism hasn't been and shouldn't be a single issue thing, because complex intersectional aspects already exist within the framework. to leave out conservationism in the discussion of veganism is to miss the purpose entirely. veganism aims to prevent harm to all animals, as much as possible.

there's an article that looks to point out extreme rigidity in individual identities that people find themselves stuck in, and it uses veganism as a primary example. which make the argument a false one. it claims that fluid identity is needed for a better quality of life.
