Using GIS to visualize relationship milestones based on elapsed time
Hi everyone, I’m working on a web-based relationship duration calculator at https://kalkulatorjadian.net/ that calculates how long two people have been together from their relationship start date. Convert an OSMAnd adress to QGIS
I added an online map to my copy of OSMAnd, using the following address: https://data.geopf.fr/wmts?layer=GEOGRAPHICALGRIDSYSTEMS.COASTALMAPS&style=normal&tilematrixset=PM&Service=WMTS&Request=GetTile&Version=1.0.0&FORMAT=image/png&TileMatrix={0}&TileCol={1}&TileRow={2} This works well (it corresponds to nautical charts of the French coast), the map appears in my map sources and I can use it as a basemap. As far as I understand, this points to a WMTS server. QGIS can, of course, use WMTS. However, I cannot configure my QGIS connections to reach this layer. The obvious things (such as pointing to https://data.geopf.fr/wmts?GetCapacities ) do not seem to work. What would be the correct QGIS settings ?

What is the most effective way to link users to a new survey from an old survey?

Converting a 32-bit GeoTIFF to map tiles using gdal2tiles

Extract attribute data from features on a WMS source
I need to extract attribute data from all features from a WMS source. So far I've managed to get them "manually" specifying coordinates for each feature using Python and OWSlib like this: from owslib.wms import WebMapService wms = WebMapService() fInfo = wms.getfeatureinfo( layers=['0'], styles=['default'], srs='EPSG:4326', bbox=(-68.68876,-23.09997,-67.82525,-21.12957), # manually set feature coordinates size=(500,500), format='image/jpeg', query_layers=['0'], info_format='application/geojson', xy=(250,250) ) out = open(wms['0'].title.replace(" ", "_")+".json", "wb") out.write(fInfo.read()) out.close() So my problem is exactly that: I need to know beforehand where are all the features and specify a bounding box inside them. Is there a way to list all features or objects from a WMS and download their metadata?

How does the ISEA-projection work? Looking for a didactic algorithm description
Is it a direct projection on 20 faces or on 32 faces? Can I use PostGIS (with ISEA) to calculate and obtain cell-identifiers? For hexagons (like Uber H3) or for diamonds (like DGGRID's ISEA4D). The online literature say nothing: * the Wikipedia short page about ISEA. No clues about algorithm. Citation into the article: Begin with a Snyder Equal Area projection to a regular icosahedron (...) inscribed in a sphere (...) Then project the hexagon back onto the sphere using the Inverse Snyder Icosahedral equal area projection. * the PROJ page for ISEA, used by PostGIS and many other, would be the best source, but it doesn't say much, on the contrary, it creates some confusion by saying "... map projections on polyhedral globes for the dodecahedron and truncated icosahedron". And not shows how to use each polyhedre. * This paper explains how to transform regular icosahedron faces into projection planes and, them, into a Truncated icosahedron of 32 faces... But I am not a good reader of mathematical formalism, nor of Chinese. --- NOTES Clues by illustrations: * ... * Step n+1: Lambert azimuthal equal-area projection over each 20 faces of the icosahedron. * Step n+2: "project back onto the sphere using the Inverse Snyder" each 5 faces to truncate, generating 12 new pentagonal faces. So, the algorithm has a reprojection step? * ...

With gdal CLI commands is everything that is not a command name, considered an argument?
I am going through the gdal Syntax documentation and am trying to break down the components of a command sent to the CLI. I understand that there is the gdal program name, commonly followed by a top-level command, then often followed by a subcommand. Synopsis for each command name (such as for hillshade) break the rest of command syntax into positional arguments, common options, options, and advanced options, etc. The Syntax documentation page mentions arguments (referenced with either long or short names), some of which are flags if they can be called without a value. But there is no mention of options. So is it safe to say then that everything other than the command names are arguments? In other words, that options are types of arguments that are optional?

Converting screen to map coordinates with PyQGIS [duplicate]
With PyQGIS how can I convert absolute screen coordinates (say, 123,456) into map coordinates of the iface.mapCanvas? It would be no problem if I had screen coordinates relative to the iface.mapCanvas.viewport(), since iface.mapCanvas.viewport().geometry() gives me sth like QRect(2,2,2198, 1090) and iface.mapCanvas().extent() gives me a QgsRectangle with xmin, xmax, ymin, ymax, so (leaving projection issues out of the scope) the conversion would be simple. But since the absolute position of the mapCanvas may vary with toolbar positions or layer windows width, the question reduces to 'how to derive the absolute screen position of the map canvas?'.

aggegate binary compliance raster to neighbourhood polygon census tract to calculate total compliant population
I have a question regarding the aggregation of a binary raster to a dataset with neighbourhood census tract polygons to research how much of the population in neighbourhoods complies with the 3-30-300 rule which means a person has to ive in a neighbourhood with 3 visible trees, 30% tree canopy cover / water surface, live 300 metres from a high quality green space. for each part of the rule i will create a 10 x 10 raster with binary scores 0 being non-compliant and 1 being compliant. Then I want to calculate the amount of people that live within those 10 x 10 cells and sum them up for the neighbourhood polygons. What is the best way to accomplish this. I was thinking either aggregating the mean of the binary raster tothe neighbourhood polygons directly using zonal statistics, this will however result in less accurate estimations of how many people really live in accordance with the rule and then would do (total population of neighbourhood * mean compliance) Or i could aggregate the binary raster to a 100 x 100 census tract raster database and then summing all the 100 x 100 cells up within the neighbourhood polygon. Is there any other way I could calculate how many people within the neighbourhood polygon comply with the rules? Keep in mind that the R script runs for 43 cities in the netherlands, so it would be nice to keep a fast computation time. thanks in advance

Removing vertex from Polygon geometry in OpenLayers 5
I could able to remove the recent modified vertex of a feature using removePoint method of modify interaction, as well as using deleteCondition event of modify interaction. However, that is not what I am trying to achieve. The use case for this this problem is as below. I have modify interaction added on map. Now when user tries to modify a feature over map, I am highlighting the vertices, like this so that user can directly go to these vertices and then do right click which will result in removal of vertex. For this, I had to implement the contextmenu to handle the right click over map. But, now the challenge is to remove the received coordinate from the modifying geometry. I tried to implement it as follows, with simple .splice() method on coordinate array of target geometry if(this.modifyInteraction.features_.getLength() && this.modifyInteraction.features_.getArray()[0]){ //Feature being modified let modifyft = this.modifyInteraction.features_.getArray()[0]; let coord = modifyft.getGeometry().getCoordinates()[0]; let foundIndex; for(var k = 0; k < coord.length; k++){ if(coord[k][0] == rightClickedVertex.getGeometry().getCoordinates()[0] && coord[k][1] == rightClickedVertex.getGeometry().getCoordinates()[1]){ foundIndex = k; break; } } if(foundIndex && foundIndex > -1){ modifyft.getGeometry().getCoordinates()[0].splice(foundIndex, 1); //nothing changes } } is there any other way to remove the vertex of geometry being edited?
