Now online in final version. We sampled 40 Swedish agricultural wetlands for in/outflow water chemistry, dissolved GHGs, total CH4 emissions, and sediment P fractions. We ask: what are the trade-offs in constructed wetlands for nutrient capture vs GHG emission? iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1...

I am looking for a postdoc to join my group at SLU in Umeå. The project is about synthesising existing knowledge on climate change effects on streams and riparian zone, and how riparian buffers can help to mitigate those effects. Feel free to share in your circles! www.slu.se/en/about-slu...

What is the largest source of electricity in each country? Coal generates one-third of the world’s electricity, more than any other source. But zoom into the country level, and the picture is much more varied.

Two major humic lakes in the Congo Basin are emitting ancient carbon from nearby peatlands into the atmosphere, reports a study in Nature Geoscience. These findings challenge the prevailing understanding that CO2 emissions from pristine humic lakes are derived from modern, rapidly cycling carbon. 🌍🧪
