I'm begging Dem consultants to lean into crime and fraud messages... because you can absolutely hammer Trump and the GOP for letting rich people perpetrate massive crimes that take billions from regular people We should be weaponizing their "fraud, waste, and abuse" messaging against them!

Natural gas demand on the California grid peaked in 2014 and has been falling ever since. Gas-fired electricity fell 15% last year, then another 26% in the first half of this year as solar and batteries continued to boom. insideclimatenews.org/news/1009202... via @dangearino.bsky.social

CA politicos will get this: Trump is basically combining the Pete Wilson Prop 187 Latino backlash with the Gray Davis energy crisis that led to his recall and Schwarzenegger's election So yeah, I expect the midterms to get messy for the GOP

Hammer Republicans and the Trump Admin on this now. Hammer it all winter. Start impeachment proceedings on the illegal war in Iran in the Spring. Can start with Hegseth. I wouldn't rule out going after Trump afterwards.

For those paying attention, Republicans are starting to run from Trump in their campaigns. Deleting website references, talking about their independence, etc It's a very clear signal to Dems about where to attack. Seeing too much "both sides" TPs. 2026 could be a juiced 2018. Don't get squishy

Cannot hammer this point enough. Counter narratives are based on brain cooking from X. 2021 VA, the "anti-CRT election," was about schools opening. 2022 was Dem overperformance. 2024 was inflation and rich man said he'd magically lower prices. Now all his anti-woke stuff is historically unpopular

It's striking (though not surprising given the normal course of authoritarian movements), that the whole Trump/MAGA/GOP message is now simply hatred of the other--of transgender people, of immigrants, and of "communists" as a catchall for everyone else. There's no pretense of a policy argument left.

It's annoying to think back to early 2025 when a bunch of politicians and companies read the "make prices lower" election as some grand social referendum and jumped hard to the right. We were always going to arrive at the midterms with Trump's approval way underwater and a flailing admin

i think the incorrect “backlash to woke” narrative comes from misreading the 2021 VA election which was really about getting schools reopened. And of course 2024 which was all about affordability. But the white nationalists have tried to use both elections to fake support for their cause

In the early days of Trump 2.0, I muttered to the void that Dems who tried to tack towards Trump were making a bad electoral move. We’ve seen this show before - Trump would be unpopular and aligning with him would be a problem Bad political calculation cost Angie Craig her election
