awful routing; i missed my swamp recharge, went to lake shore first instead of forest, missing on score for that stage entirely, volcano recharge was unsuccessful, messed up graveyard near the end meanwhile gorge was a no miss and castle went awesome as well this is why you don't throw runs, folks

for reference, notable player グレイ (Pink sweets WR holder with Shasta) has gotten early access to it and 1cc it yesterday; the consensus, for now is that the slowdown is better than the 360 port, but still a bit less than the PCB combined with the new QOL it's leagues better than what we had before

i've been asking myself for over 20 years at this point. was this a stunt move by NAPS to spread the game around? this whole story just surfaced back on my head because, as you'd expect, some developers have ported Tekken Tag characters, into a Tekken 3 recomp (with AI)

the fabled PS1 Tekken Tag disc would boot up to instead reveal Gekido: Urban Fighters developed by Italian studio NAPS Team, Gekido is a side scrolling 3D beat em up with licensed music from Fatboy Slim, and Apartment 26, a british nu metal band

i go to school, classmate shows up, shows his "PS1 Tekken Tag" copy proudly, all my classmates lose their shit; and even if i burst that bubble right there and then, they thought i was just jealous i ran into that exact situation twice already, nothing surprised me anymore...

point being, you couldn't trust the covers that's where tekken tag comes in this was summer/autumn 2000, and i already knew what was up, having experienced buying those pirated games and Hit Mania Dance Estate on cassette tape myself every Saturday, skipping school in the process (not my photo)

street vendors were quite common South Italy on the weekends, selling pirated PS1 discs in plastic sleeves for €5 each sometimes you'd end up with a japanese game, or your copy of Syphon Filter was just yet another copy of Who Wants to be a Billionaire (voiced by Gerry Scotti)
