In lighter news, meet Kara! The first of a fun little comic project i'm calling MCIS. MAGICAL CYBERGIRLS IN SPACE. When the premise is ridiculous, you don't even NEED a clever title. This takes place in the boombride universe, but FAR AWAY from the book storyline #mcis #valdraws #napcitybeats

A magical girl in an asymmetrical crop top and fluttering skirt lands in a strange city that seems to curve in the background. Stars and rectangles sparkle around her as she comes to a soft landing. At the risk of overstating it, this may connect to a Japanese sensibility for leaving room for the imagination – for appreciating things that aren’t shown or said. I’ll probably get in trouble if I start mentioning things like Zen and wabi-sabi (laughs), but we really do have a sense of beauty where showing everything isn’t the point.

A reminder that Love Bullet has some of the best panelling and action choreography in comics right now.

Did the 9 animes thing. Surprisingly it was kinda hard to pick, and not because i had too many. Because i forgot what i watched because my brain is full of holes. Also the manga for many of them are just better (Lookin' at you, Bloom into You). For #10 i would put Samurai X

9 animes that shaped who i am: noir, slayers (i picked try, they're all fun) Ghost in the shell: stand alone complex, Nausicaa, Madoka Magica, Kamiina Botan, Cowboy Bebop, Dungeon meshi, and Escaflowne.

Will i watch it graph showing that as quality and or kissing increase,i am more likely to watch it, until it reaches a point where it's so good that they should have known better than to not show kissing and it starts pissing me off again.

Btw if you want some fucked up lesbian adult animation where women kiss, kill, and have other horrible things happen to/around them, you should check out RIN just be aware it has some very fucked up scenes including one that turned my piercing phobia up to 1 million (i skipped over the scene lol)

Could call it done (except for some messy bits) but i wanna try doing highlights. We'll see if i ruin it.

a lot of lineart and shapes can be expressed as an equation (probably for real, but i'm not math like that) if you use the "I shape, C shape, S shape curve" + a direction (Left, Right, Up, Down). there's lots more like a pressure curve, specific angles, etc but just this helps make it feel right
