"Whoot," said the doctor. "You've got a nasty case of..."

Off topic but really really worth a watch.

Embiid plays 30 games max. Lebron 40. Simons and Dean Wade is the bench. Folks.... it's not happening.

Another 'not Mitch' signing...

Fare thee well, Ariel. We'll always have that great block on your predecessor Luke and your finals press conference shenanigans. I actually like this for him and for the Sixers - he's a classic Sixers bench guy in every sense, and given who's in front of him... he'll play!

I like Collins, but he's a weird fit on this team, vibes-wise.

All the centers are signing contracts.... is there Mitch news in the works?

I could see Deuce and a passel of 2nd rd picks going out in a trade for a backup C at this point. Landry, Jose, JC are backup guards. Diawara signed. But we need size and Huk is... not the guy.

News: I too am expected to exercise my player option to keep doing what I'm doing at around the same salary until eventually I've done it enough to feel like I can stop doing it.

In other timelines, the Knicks just lost Game 6 at home and have to play Game 7 on Friday. I do not not envy those timelines (unless they also have cool flying cars and even then not really).

It's a golden age of content. I'm watching 55 yr old dads freak out, small children cheer, nutritionists of players beam, WAGs be WAGs (seems like a nice group actually), masses of West Village bandwagoners riot, and stoned OG giggle on GMA... man. What a week.

Hard to wrap my head around all this, but I don't want my top post to be a complaint about refs so I'll just say what I often text to a friend whenever Jalen hits a big shot in the last 3 minutes of a game: Fuck yeah.

OG Anunoby’s whole life prepared him for this Knicks moment
OG Anunoby’s run towards his game-winning tip-in started long before Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

Last night I took a picture of a camera man taking a picture of the prelude to the most glorious sporting event I have ever had the privilege to witness, and I was at the LJ 4 point play game and the Trent Tucker 'henceforth there must be .3 seconds left on clock for catch and shoot' game.

Not loving the media's obsession with The Shove. Yes, large man pushed Jalen and it was a dirty play. Ok. Let's move on, play faster when Castle gets up on defense, and win the game.

It is an extremely in-character thing for Donald Trump to ruin the evening of tens of thousands of people so he can attend an event where he will also have a bad time.

Jalen Brunson thrives under pressure in a way few ever have. Because of that, and my very recent 12-round bout with anxiety, I wanted to learn more about his relationship with pressure so I can continue to better understand myself. Free for all: www.nytimes.com/athletic/733...

I asked Jalen Brunson about pressure to better understand my own anxiety. Here’s what he said (Gift Article)
Jalen Brunson is facing tremendous pressure to deliver a title for New York. How does he deal with it? And what can we all learn from it?

I truly love the local memory for legendary fuck ups that become touchstones for fans. I mean, who among us has forgotten Strick's 1990 turnover?? Add Wemby's brain freeze to the list. (It's telling that ours are pretty much all missed shots at the rim and/or times when guys left the bench.)

Josh Hart just said that he was surprised at the start of Game 1, after days of preparing for being guarded by Wemby from the jump, when he brought the ball up and saw that Julian Champagnie was guarding him. "I was about to call timeout, and tell them to switch."

The depth of the team - and the consistency with which we turn it up in the second half owing to reasonable minute distributions - is one of the two huge differences between this run and the others of the 2020s. The other huge difference is KAT figuring it out.

It's been 42 days since the Knicks last lost a basketball game. They've trailed in the fourth quarter in just FIVE games this postseason.

Impressed by KAT. Would love to see some 3s fall. Refs being slight more reasonable. This is the recipe for getting within 5 by 4th.

"(The Knicks: a matryoshka doll of interregnums!)" High quality work here from @katiebakes.bsky.social and @howardbeck.bsky.social. As far as fleeting joy goes, I would have added a dollop of David Lee. The man went for 37, 20, and 10... in a loss.

Folks, there is no way Mitch is playing in Game 1 with only a week to recover from surgery, no matter how minor it is. They sliced that man open. Game 3 - first home game - yes.

A real test. How high on his own supply is Dolan? How much of a masochist is DJT? I am guessing the answer to both of these questions is: more than we can ever imagine.
