I understand your point and anger because I have a trans daughter-in-law. I gently suggest not judging supporters whether you think their support has been or is late or insufficient. This does not help your cause. It can alientate the people most likely to be there for you all as time goes on.

This is it in a nutshell. Democracy costs money now. It's a budget line item. Realistically, there are at least 1M people, probably closer to 10M, donating to Democratic candidates this election. That is quite a multiplier. Especially when you factor in a few hundred thousand affluent liberals.

ICE does not provide data on "whether detainees were legal permanent residents, visa holders, asylum seekers, or citizens wrongly held." Just "how many people are in detention, and whether they have criminal convictions." (As of Jan., 74% did not).

I read one Repbulican official answer this by saying it is a multi-variable decision. Well, no shit. There are plenty of times that multi-variable decisions lead to an unintuitive decision. But not when they result in raining missiles down on your own armies. That choice is beyond redemption.

Reagan/Bork argued that Anti-trust law should support "consumer welfare" by allowing monopolies because economies of scale reduce prices. It's a shell game. Because they also monopolize & abuse vendors, employees, & communities. And once competition is gone, they abuse customers on price & service.

Heartbreakingly so. Colombine was the start. In 1999. The acquisition of guns had just gone ballistic in the 90s, and the ban on assault weapons was just allowed to expire. The NRA and 2nd Amendment gang became hugely powerful. Invincible. The rest is history. Guns, arsenals everywhere.

The NYT has catastrophically failed us. A Gorilla is in the White House and an army of apes are rounding up humans. The NYT quotes the opinions of Gorilla, apes, and humans, and reports "there is polarization. Reasonable people disagree over what is happening, why, and where it all leads."

That data is impossible to gather, since many efforts to track events have been sabotaged by the DOJ and there is no central org. Mainly there are efforts to track ICE presence and activity, I've seen lots of reports including both victims, some of whom have gone to courts, and friends and family.

I get it. I agree. I did ask specifically for sources, sampled source reports, and worked pretty hard to cross-check. And I am opposed to data centers for many reasons, too... Just so hard to compile and analyze this much, even when someone else is doing a first draft...

They are taking legal residents too off the streets from their homes, businesses, schools, hospitals without warrants. Poor legal access/habeas corpus in the concentration camps. People are missing work, unable to be caretakers, separated from children stolen by the state. This is terror.
