Oh man I'm gonna be delivering so much nonprofit political mail to retirement homes with this dumb loser's face on it real soon

Sorry but if you survive a double execution attempt, you get to become the prison warden now.

"I don't think anyone needs a billion dollars" is neither controversial or an opinion. People can quibble all they want about the ethics of allowing for billionaires to exist, but no one *needs* it.

My lasting memory of him in that era was just the infamous double mound visit, though I think he was only bench coach then?

Also probably how you felt watching the Mattingly era Dodgers

Immediately after a report that basically says he allowed October 7th to happen, and four weeks before the election where he's made Israeli security his tentpole issue. Not saying just saying

Criticizing Wallace Shawn is more antisemitic than criticizing Israel.

If your entire office is averaging 5-6, you're the outlier. I didn't pull my number out of the air. USPS puts out their national volumes regularly. They claim 150,000,000 certs per year, across 300 days of delivery. 500K per day, across more than 200K routes (including POB, which get their share)

Polite Yet Ultimately Malevolent Mailman @usps.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
I've been doing this job long enough to know mail carriers talk about their mail volumes the same way dudes talk about their fish catches.

*Residential* routes? I doubt they *average* 5-6. And in the context of this conversation what exactly do you think is the purpose of introducing the most absolutely outrageously absurd outlier possible other than to justify the absurdity of this idea?

Another classic suggestion that could have literally only been made by the dumbest people on earth.
080
Polite Yet Ultimately Malevolent Mailman @usps.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
For reference, the average residential route gets somewhere between 0-3 certified letters per day. The generally estimated time added each day per cert is ~2 minutes. At 500ish registered voters per route, this would have added about 16 hours 40 mins per route, or 24 hours 40 mins per day.

Honestly just abolish the entire ivy league. Nothing of value with preserving. Institutions entirely dedicated to protecting the hold on power by all the world's worst people.

I'm not even sure this newfound manufacturer "freedom" is going to change much? The industry is clearly going to continue to be more interested in chasing consumer demand for EVs, hybrids, and fuel efficient standard cars.

The median Fox News host is among the dumbest and least curious human beings alive, so I'll give this woman the benefit of the doubt that she doesn't even understand how Obamacare subsidies are paid (directly to the insurer!), but her editors absolutely do. Flat out lying to invent a story.

Just helping with editing here. These bots aren’t sentient. They’re doing what they’re programmed to do. OpenAI, a private company supposedly bound by laws, committed federal crimes.
Screenshot of BBC article: OpenAI bots (struck through) meddled with multiple US government agency sites

I don't know if I ever touched mine between the time I got it and the time I got insurance through USPS. Maybe once?

I was always weary of him because I grew up a cynical little brat, but man I wanted to have hope and give him a chance. When he made his first order of business to open the revolving door between him and Goldman Sachs, I knew we were cooked for 4yrs minimum.

If we fail to collect customs on a package from a customer, CBP would come shake down the post office directly because they had logs for it.
010
Polite Yet Ultimately Malevolent Mailman @usps.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
If they're not ready, we'd just cut them the same slip we miss for when we leave notice on a package. Notice the spot for it in the bottom left corner.

It's been years since I've personally had a COD item, but they still exist. It's slightly more common, but still rare, for us to collect money for customs. If it's COD, the customer is usually aware and ready. Not always the case for customs. We don't carry cash, so it's either check or exact change

Definitely not, but the saga was even funnier because prior to that he was some sorta new age crystal-ish dipshit who ran a radio segment where he offered people fantasy baseball advice based on player horoscopes lol

Probably low on the scale, but there was that guy who used to operate the Sports Blog Nation page for the Angels (Halos Haven? Halos Heaven?) who was fired after writing a diatribe about how he hoped Josh Hamilton relapsed and died of an overdose when he left the Angels

I actually have a picture on my phone of it, too, but can't post it because you can see me in the reflection of the scanner lol. We got it on 9/11 and I had to send it to my coworker who was in Vegas on vacation at the time.

Imagine just deciding that your house's address is now an entirely different number now, not telling anyone at the city or in the post office, and then getting indignant that the mail with your new address was just returned to sender.

I mean, what else do you think it was? You think USPS is issuing secretive directives to us to throw away ballots? Read the story. The dude dumped most of his entire day's mail, he didn't single out ballots for destruction. These stories happen sometimes. They suck, but theres no grand conspiracy.

Question: was this man kidnapped in 1982 with the explicit intent of making him wait out the possibility of there one day being a Francis Ford Coppola Gothic horror film for which he'd have no cultural frame of reference, or was that just an opportunity that arose post-kidnapping?
