The season has started to change, and spark has ignited in me to return to mini paining/building. It’s just a few minutes a day so far, but the short bits of work have brought me a lot of joy. So far it’s touch ups and repairs to get stuff out of the “to do” pile. Fixed this guys arm last night.

I waited Months for the cards after backing the kickstarter, had my first Beta event postponed by a week (which I only discovered after traveling 45 minutes to the venue). After all that, if I discover I’m actually terrible at the Cyberpunk TCG…I’m going to laugh so hard.

A fundamental issue I have with many playstyles in MTG is the games become players each retreating to a corner, barely acknowledging each other, until the 1st to finish their LEGO set looks up and says “I win.” It’s not a game, it’s a race to finish an infinite combo or unbeatable board state.

Sigh. I had hoped Competitive Brawl in MTG arena might be a fun challenge. But I’ve seen more land destruction in the first gold rank than I’ve seen in years in normal Brawl. I’m both angry AND disappointed. Why people can’t let fun into their hearts, not naked, desperate need for wins.
