The takeaway is that pollution can do more than directly reduce survival or reproduction. By interfering with hormone-mediated physiology, androgenic pollutants may reshape the trade-offs linking immunity, reproduction and fitness. 5/6 Watch this space as more work from this project will follow 👀

Mosquitofish were exposed to environmentally relevant levels of no, low, and high pollution concentrations. Exposed fish had reduced PHA-induced swelling, lower white blood cell counts and altered neutrophil–lymphocyte ratios. (2/6)
