Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 29/09/2026Coniston House, 10am. Grinding and banging right beside homes that still have families living in them. EEH still hasn't rehoused everyone. How is this acceptable? 021
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 28/09/2026I’m enjoying this season and not just because Evan Peters in his rubber outfit. 000
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 15/09/2026Twink to bunk without transitioning through any of the intervening categories? 000
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 31/07/2026New gym kit, so I guess I better go do a gym. @denloungewear.bsky.social 1210
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 07/07/2026Post-vacation unpacking… No. 1 priority: disinfect safety equipment. 030
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 20/06/2026I had a ‘beef dip’ and a frozen margarita. Not sure what that makes me. 030
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 20/06/2026Last summer, East End Homes promised we’d be back in our homes by December 2025 (as reported by @theslicetowham.bsky.social towerhamletsslice.co.uk/romanroad/co...). It’s nearly July, and we can’t even access our corridor! #housing #towerHamlets #eastEndHomes #conistonHouse 024
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 26/05/2026Hello. My name is Martin. I am an adult. My office is a train. 🚂 2120
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 10/05/2026…and I may be a bit tipsy after celebrating our ordeal with these muddy reprobates. 190
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 10/05/2026So I sadly wasn’t elected as a local councillor this weekend, but I did win a couple of matches in a jujitsu competition and completed my first 15km Tough Mudder. 2131
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 02/02/2026People can be so selfish. If you’re unwell, stay home. If you can’t stay home, wear a mask. 000
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 19/01/2026I approve. This was mine yesterday. I think the barista might have been flirting. 130
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 16/01/2026An unusual Friday night activity: touring the British Museum led by the lovely and infectiously enthusiastic @sachacoward.bsky.social. He even signed out books! 2461
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 04/01/2026I had a nice stay at Hotel Barcelona Princess. It's in the Diagonal Mar area, which is a bit away from the old town, but it's on a decent metro line and near the beach. A really good views from the bar to Sagrada Família and the rooftop pool and sundeck was rather good. 110
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 03/01/2026A bracing walk round #MileEndWard in search of a coffee. Many of my usuals are still on holiday, but The Coffee Room is open. 140
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 01/01/2026Just finished watching #StrangerThings. That was brutal. I’m not ashamed to admit that it had me in tears several times. A story that took a decade to tell. Here’s to the Duffer Brothers for creating such an amazing world! 000
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 14/12/2025I did a swim (first in a long time) and I’m reinforcing my good behaviour. 270
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 05/12/2025So I only bought one thing in this year’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday retail nonsense, and it’s pretty neat. No, it’s not a vape. 350
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 07/11/2025Spent a rewarding hour last night helping collect signatures for a petition to get TfL to take over the Greenwich and Woolwich lifts, which are sadly neglected by the local council. All the people we met were so happy that someone was trying to do something about it. www.change.org/p/lifts-now-... 1132
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 04/11/2025Spent this morning going through more of my possessions, working out what has survived. It’s so sad to see the damage to those things with memories attached to them — memories from my childhood, my time in the navy, university. 😢 010
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 04/11/2025Ouch. Might have been better to unscrew the cycle bollards before commencing work at Mile End Junction. Reversing heavy machinery over them risks damaging the bollards and their foundations. If they are left damaged, I hope TfL/LBTH sends Thames Water the bill for the repairs. 221
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 01/11/2025Eastend Homes: “The leaks were dealt with when they happened and are isolated to one area. Mitigations are in place to minimise further problems.” Does this look minimised? 101
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 01/11/2025It’s more than two years since Eastend Homes’ disastrous attempt to build flats on our flats resulted in our homes being flooded. Our homes are still being ruined. We still haven’t an explanation for how this meets building regulations. It’s like nothing was learned from #RonanPoint or #Grenfell. 234
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 28/10/2025I should probably write something more long-form, but my experience cycling to Amsterdam was so much less stressful than I thought it’d be. Only sketchy bit was working out how to get between the station and the ferry with a bike in Harwich. 130
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 16/10/2025And now in another city, Leiden, grabbing a spot of lunch and more caffeine before the push to Amsterdam. 120
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 16/10/2025So after a nice easy cycle from the ferry to Rotterdam, it’s time for some coffee and cake. 190
Martin D @unixmaisonette.com · 15/10/2025I think Greater Anglia trains have the easiest-to-use bike storage. Four bikes can be stored here, and there’s no struggling to get them to hang vertically in an awkward cupboard like on Hitachi trains. 030
