they were “helpless,” or “stuck in the car,” or “trying to work the margins from the inside” (which we know is a lie, demonstrably, by their statements of record), they absolutely failed the most critical moral test of the century thus far. Why would we hire them again? www.dropthegenocide20.org

“At times fallen short” is a nothing statement. They stood on all of the victims, while handing the killer the knives. It gives big, “this is not who we are” energy. It’s like the Cornell 7 writing an essay, saying “we’ve at times fallen short as a Chi Phi members, in upholding women’s rights.”

The only upside I can see, is the next Democratic DOJ can raid his offices, secure his servers, and do a Chris Hanson on anyone who used his B.S. to create CSAM - I’ll bet there’s a treasure trove of names. A gift that keeps on giving. It’s a great honey pot.

3. DOGE made false claims about employee performance in order to fire them, but did not want to put their names to these emails. So they would coerce civil servants into doing so. If the civil servants refused, they were fired. (Not just DOGE, other Trump appointees like Kash Patel did this).
The revealing moments in the civil service were lonelier. They occurred inside people’s hearts and minds, and seldom leaked to the press. After his arrival at the IRS, one of Gavin Kliger’s first acts had been to demand that the agency fire its 6,700 probationary workers, who had yet to be granted civil service protection. By law they could be fired only for poor performance. Gavin had asked Traci DiMartini, in her capacity as head of human resources, to agree to put her name on an email to the mostly young employees telling them that they had failed at their jobs. The Doge people played this trick often. They’d use or try to use civil servants as a kind of ventriloquist dummy so that they, the Doge workers, could keep their names off official documents. But Traci took one look at the email, saw it was plainly a lie, and refused to have anything to do with it. The price of that single act of resistance was her job. Gavin didn’t have the authority to fire Traci, but his new acting commissioner did. “He asked Melanie to fire Traci, and Melanie did it,” said Kathleen.

Gotta remind everybody of this banger from 1980s Japan
Japanese magazine “AMERICAN POLICE” by Wild Mook (old term for a magazine book) - the cover has a photo of an American policeman in a short sleeve medium blue uniform shirt and dark blue police hat. He is overweight and sitting at a fast food restaurant table that is covered with a variety of hamburgers in 80s styrofoam boxes, multiple sodas, and a huge pile of French fries covered in ketchup. The policeman’s baton/billy club lays on top of the fries. The cop is happily drinking soda from a McDonald’s cup through a straw as he holds a hamburger in his other hand. The cover has a lot of Japanese writing describing the articles within.

That’s why I can’t for the life of me understand why Democrats are like “we need to buy every one of these cops Iron man suits and jet packs so they can all feel like SEAL Team Six, then give them spy capabilities of the NSA.” They’re 1/2 the fucking problem!

I think the problem is, losers are always quick to get violent, and decent people have something to lose. When the cops are on the side of the violent losers, only one group is going to get arrested. You see this asymmetry every time the Nazis go on parade. I’m guessing Germany was the same way.

The Nazis used much the same tactics the far right is using now and there was a far more robust kick back against them. The German economy was a total mess, the Communists were a real threat and there was the painful humiliation of WW1. In short, the Germans had some excuse, the Americans have none.

The big problem I see here, is you can’t mount a CROWS system on that thing. A computer assisted, 10x magnified .50 Cal is pretty fucking nice when you are in a firefight with someone 800 meters away. I guess they’ll just use drones?

Mingya! @unityandsolidarity.bsky.social · 14h
Under blast isn’t so much of a problem in drone warfare vs. threats from above. I feel like this is the Army’s vehicle version of the Marine Corps “everyone gets an M27.” Yeah - light is nice, but so isn’t armor and fire superiority.

Mingya! @unityandsolidarity.bsky.social · 14h
They came to this conclusion because of Ukraine, and just said “fuck it.” The JLTV was made to bridge the gap between MRAP/HMMWV. In Ukraine, all the threat comes from FPV drones, and the JLTV’s have a high heat signature. The vehicles are always made for the previous war, and never the current one.
