Saw this map of all the for the current city I’m in on Reddit, how do I find out if they’re switching over to Axon ALPRs and if I should I file through Muckrock as mentioned in the article? I’m moving soon thankfully so not worried about any bs 🤷🏻‍♂️🙏🏽

Listen, I used to love using a - when needed. Now I don’t bother in case it gets mistaken as a — that I literally didn’t even know how to do on iOS until this second (press down on -) I’m a millennial and I’m well read, yet, I can’t recall any articles I’ve ever read that had 54 em-dashes. Ever.

A screenshot of the image with an em-dash highlighted in the Find On Page feature of Safari that showcases within the article that there are 54 of them in this single post

I mean that pathway to the house and that sign are just bad.

Same image but zoomed in on the cacti and the sign of gibberish and showcasing the very narrow sidewalk

frederick @unfocused.xyz · 08/09/2026

I mean look at the sidewalks here on this image the author used on his Southwest screed of this post. The sidewalks are, not sidewalks I’ve ever seen. The sign seems to be completely gibberish. Also there’s no image credits I saw unless the element didn’t load for me as I have Adblockers and such

An AI image attempting to depict the American Southwest with too narrow of sidewalks and a pathway seems to be the same attempt at a sidewalk. Then a sign of gibberish no words I recognize as part of any language.

Felt like my timeline put this in front of me at the same moment for me to share this so here I am. What else is social media for if not ironic posts being shared as a meme. Sorry others don’t get the memo. Thanks @erocy.world for the timely post and thanks bluesky for whatever algo you use

Anyway, cool, great, another lovely day on social media, the place where if you don't add every possible caveat to a post some smug assholes will quote post you to dunk on you for something you didn't argue. Fun.

The app itself is $12.99. It uses mutable instruments open sourced plaits code. It’s a cool synth. Don’t went to name and shame! But $4 for LFO’s $4 for MPE protocol. Yeah idk seems dumb? lol

Damn I didn’t realize that the seemingly eye rolling woman oil on canvas meme is Giuseppe Molteni - Mother Mourning the Death of her Child - La derelitta la morte del bimbo Lordy. Art is up to the interpreter, I suppose. We are cooked.

Oil on Canvas of a woman holding a handmade wreath while looking upwards, seemingly, eye rolling, but might be more deep than that.

It’s fundamental to understand that Christianity is a end of times/doomsday religion. This is the major part of it. The rapture, end times, heaven and hell. This is why many of their leaders don’t care about climate change. Far-Right Christian Nationalists especially subscribe to this ethos.

What a guy! Great guy to work with. We went with @ghost.org for the site! Design wise is using Ghost’s main theme - “Source” With some edits here and there. Notable - Adding a reading progress bar and a footnotes script, with some social media icons added to the bottom. It turned out great!

Far better than before but still annoying. I have room to breathe now but the lesson here is iOS needs to let users flush the cache. iOS -> 13.95 GB System Data -> 19.6 GB Last night was iOS -> 20.72 System Data -> 92.5

I hate almost everything about the ending of this article www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

Screenshot of the ending of the article linked in the post

The Atlantic

Americans Can’t Believe How Rich They Are

The misguided temptation to exaggerate poverty

By Idrees Kahloon

Complacency about poverty isn't required. Though much progress has been made against child poverty, the present level is still too high. But it is remediable by, for example, expanding child tax credits at the federal and state levels and creating baby-bond programs that build wealth that is accessible upon a child reaching adulthood. These achievable goals are obscured by assertions that households with six-figure salaries are the truly disadvantaged, or that "late capitalism" inevitably requires Dickensian exploitation of the poor. It breeds fatalism among the already convinced and disbelief among the critics.
Exaggerating poverty hinders, rather than hastens, its eradication.
