This is Minneapolis: Walk into my neighborhood ACE last night & see the signage on their door notifying fed agents that it’s private property and cannot be used for immigration enforcement. These signs are all over the city. Walk in & the nearest shelf has goggles & whistles.

5/ Do you need to go to the ER? Did you talk to your doctor? (Most offices have an answering service after hours and someone on call that will respond and can give medical advice) Could you go to urgent care? This is a pretty good infographic

4/Mental Health patients Limited or no access to shower The “accepting” facility physician is in charge of their care in the ER, they don’t even see the patient or reassess them. Mental health patients with resources are treated like this unless someone tells them to contact their family or doctor.

3/ Mental health patients They are treated less than human, people who have nothing get treated like nothing. They get stuck in a room with no windows for days, weeks waiting for a bed to open up at the facility they were accepted at. The ER doc only orders meds prn, no therapy, hospital food

2/ But the hospital won’t hire enough nurses to even use every bed the hospital is licensed to use. So while you are waiting to be seen, the admitted patients sit in the ER while hospitals have 20+ empty rooms upstairs because they don’t have anyone to take care of people.

STFU Vance I was an ER nurse for 14 years and quit because I couldn’t be complicit with the way ANY patient gets treated in the ER. You wait because the healthcare system doesn’t really give a crap about you. Daily, ER beds are filled with patients that have been admitted and should be upstairs. 1/
