yes! one of the most powerful things I have read about this was about the LOTR trilogy in @strangehorizons.bsky.social (from an essay written by Tandy Gardam)

Occasionally check Amazon to see when new titles are coming out for things, and they have now been totally overrun by people taking what looks like out of copyright texts and slapping on horrifying AI covers.
