Just heard an ad for a Dianetics seminar on the regular radio, in the Year 2026. We are so cooked. The worst thing is, even though everybody knows more or less what Scientology is now, no one born after the 80s knows wtf Dianetics was, and it's now rebranded as a sensitive "mental health" solution?

Just starting to collect some good Oishinbo (1988) moments. It's a fun, cozy show. Nothing over the top, but consistent: just one of those charming Japanese cultural vehicles for which I am a total mark.
