This is technically true… which is why I think we need: - more than one [app.bsky] AppView - people actually using the other AppViews - clearer guidelines from Bluesky PBC on in what circumstances they can ban self-hosted accounts on the Relay / AppView / mod service level

the state of bluesky is weird. i can't *technically* be banned since i'm on a separate PDS, but the centralized relay that picks up bluesky posts could just refuse to pick up posts from my PDS, meaning I might as well be banned at that point since nothing I do would show up

Holy shit I love the debugging feature in @graze.social, it’s so useful for checking if the posts I am trying to make sure come up in the feed do. Especially for the language part as I’m building a Russian speaking feed it’s important to check the tag and also use the language compare node 10/10

We've added some super detailed ways to order content in your feeds, but it may a bit complicated to "sort" it out (get it!?) - @hipstersmoothie.com sat down and wrote up a bit of color about how you can use our custom sort operators to create almost any type of feed ordering!

So it begins, the first set of tooling to create a space for the Russian community here on Bluesky starts with a feed, RuSky. Currently just collects Russian speakers posts, will need many more improvements (especially in the moderation part), but it’s a good first step. bsky.app/profile/did:...

Really looking forward to the improved moderation nodes being implemented in @graze.social that would be able to utilize existing atproto functionality like moderation and block lists (In my head it could look something like the People in the List node takes an input of a url for a normal list)

it's kinda sad that digital work is so hidden like there's no messy study room or bookshelves full of works you've read or letters from people and gizmos and widgets you've built or stacks of drawings and diagrams it's all just, hidden in folders, already lost in space, and eventually lost to time

It's kind of a catch 22… without a somewhat centralized moderation, there will be trolls, scams, impersonation, the site will not grow or people will start leaving. But also with good moderation, outside teams have less motivation to build a more decentralized version as designed…

An actual idea on how to make atproto more private for those that need it. Imagine being actually constructive instead of harassing researchers. Don’t know if that’s what bsky devs are cooking but they are most likely working on some form of data privacy/encryption for #atproto

What the actual fuck is wrong with people. Like yeah we might have a data scraping issue and the response right now is to just ban people for the sake of it. The actual solution to it will come from Bluesky itself and not some asshole who wants to feel important

Here are the features Bluesky needs to really start competing with X on a basic level: 1. Ability to make threads 2. Scheduling tweets (always a cool feature no matter the app) 3. Some form of monetisation Due to it’s decentralised nature though it could also be invented by the community of devs
