Damn just got all the way to the final boss of Sonic 2 with all chaos emeralds my first time trying as Knuckles, but even with 4 continues I kept messing up on the egg bot I even resorted to watching a video guide on my last continue and still ended up with game over 😞

Haven’t finished Sonic 2 yet but got the Sonic and Knuckles cart today so naturally had to try with Knuckles

I am just not a single genre type of gamer, end of last year my mindset was going all in on JRPGs, and I do love JRPGs but I thrive on variety Lately been playing Sea of Stars, Sonic 2, and a couple bullet hells (Mushihimesama and Blue Wish Resurrection Plus)

End thoughts on SMTV, I did 3 endings total - 2 in CoC and 1 CoV First playthrough was great, totally in love but on NG+ and CoV I was tired of the huge open areas and going through fast I realized how weak the writing is Overall 6/10, but interested in other SMT titles because combat was 10/10

Playing Sea of Stars still and as much as I’m loving the gameplay I am really put off by all the 4th wall jokes and modern dialogue quips. Story is good and the characters are likable, but the dialogue feels off. Which is sad because it started strong and around the pirates started going downhill.

Started Sea of Stars, this game is absolutely stunning, really pushes the boundaries of pixel art Really fun too!

This game looks amazing, I know SNES can technically display more colors and has real transparency and all that but the Genesis does look really good still

Stumbled across the mess of HD CRT videos on YT I'm begging you Please do not use HD CRTs for games from the 16 to 32 bit eras it's a waste and doesn't make sense, these are 4:3 games built for SD CRTs Just get a regular CRT and composite cable, that's what everyone really used in the 90s anyway

Star Fox holds up so well. There is maybe one boss (not this one) where you have to fight against the controls a little but for the most part it’s got all the charm I remember I have a lot of admiration for older games where you just pick it up and play, get as far as you can and that’s that

Found this video on why CRTs are better for retro systems, describes it well and gives great examples Only note would be it shows many examples very zoomed which can look bad and unlike it would look on CRT, though I understand that's probably to better show differences from pixel perfect displays

I'm late I'm late!! #portfolioday I'm Cravat and I love shading with black!

Fanart of Reina from Tekken. She's kneeling, a mildly deranged look on her face, and the camera is at a low angle looking up at her. There is Japanese Kanji behind her that says "REINA." The piece has bright green accents, and Reina is cel-shaded with solid black.

Fanart for "DanDaDan," a Japanese anime and manga series, depicting the two main protagonists. Momo Ayase takes up the bottom half of the image, resting a finger on her face with a green background and cow being abducted by a UFO behind her, while Okarun takes up the top half of the image adjusting his glasses, a red background behind him with Turbo Granny in her original form superimposed behind him. Both characters are cel-shaded with black.

There are two doodles of Turbo Granny in her cat form either side of Okarun looking suspicious and relaxed. Framing the picture on the top left and bottom right are film reels with panels from the manga redrawn in each one.

Fanart of Hatsune Miku. The illustration is cel-shaded with solid black. Her hands are linked together and she's winking cutely at the camera. The background is pink, with the silhouettes of white flowers framing Miku.

Fanart of Ramlethal from Guilty Gear. She's facing right and lifting her bandaged arm as if to fight, neutral expression on her face. The background is green, and Ram is cel-shaded with black.

Got true neutral CoC ending in SMTV, also reloaded and did regular neutral But then learned about clear save files with the stars for the endings, and ending demons/miracles/achievements Don’t normally do this completionist stuff but now I’m thinking of doing NG+ to get all endings on one save 🤔

Just want to say I absolutely hate sealed collecting, grading, and things like reg cards or fucking ads still being in the box. It just inflates prices so someone can put it on a shelf and never touch it. Games are interactive media and this stuff does nothing but restrict the retro market.

I’m still working on SMTV, I’m at the end of Canon of Creation have a couple quests left trying to get true neutral ending - the lvl 94 and 99 one - have done all others Going to do Canon of Vengeance still but this might really be my favorite game, has challenged some of what I thought about JRPGs

Was comparing this more since both push digital more anyway One more thing I recently learned is Series X physical discs only hold about half as much as a PS5 disc so Series X games are more likely to require a download (blu ray discs are BD25/BD50 on X vs BD66/BD100 on PS5)
