When Republicans are debating whether to pay for their tax cuts, they are debating whether the national debt should increase by 20% or 30% over the next decade. Even without doing any other spending or tax cuts.

Vivek Ramaswamy, the co-Chair of DOGE, has called to defund the entire list. I don't think it's exaggeration to point out what's on the list. He wants to cut 1,200 programs. Some are "all Federal prisons" or "the entire Coast Guard."

DOGE did call for cutting $516 billion, which is everything on a particular CBO list. That list includes the entire VA, NIH, FBI, federal prisons, SEC, Coast Guard, and others. Here's CBO's list. www.cbo.gov/publication/... Here's DOGE's tweet pointing to it
