Of cource any adoption of AI will 'dumb-down' the humans that empoly these abominations at the expense of developing their own experience. There's NOTHING intelligent about using artifical intelligence! (Though true, I'm such a hypocrite, as I'm playing around with Claude CoWork right now).

Ellipsus is okay. These new features add a bit to the experience, but don't aid the work process. Scrivener is still a far superior tool for writing. - unless - you need to interactively collaborate with another writer in real time. I think Ellipsus is a very good multi-writer writing tool.

Individuals need this same intentionality, awareness, and self-directed adaptability when addressing their own work processes and support systems. This is the only way to ensure the long-term viability in today's dynamic, context-bound working environments.

There is something so empowering about being able to directly control your work processes with quick/clever keyboard commands you've designed and programmed yourself. I use Karabiner Elements + Automator scripts + Alfred workflows. I know most prefer Keyboard Maestro, but I'm okay with my setup.

For systems to be engineered in the public interest they must be open to rational critical design – systems thinking approaches conducted in the interests in the public or at least in the interests of people who don't profitably own the system must play a role in reshaping them.

These observations are truly disturbing, but what makes them more frightening is that unlike in the past, we are experiencing radical generation-to-generation societal deterioration. Now technology and societal change occurs at a pace faster than our shared memories can adopt and stories can adapt.

I have really appreciated many of the new and improved features of iPadOS 26. But what I love more about the iPad, even now, is that's it's an iPad! I have a maxed out Mac Mini Pro and an incredible desktop setup as my 'computer.' Then, I have a beefy M2 iPad Pro as my 'mobile work device.'

I just published a new post on my writing processes and four apps I use to enable them; Drafts, Obsidian, iA Writer, and Scrivener. I’ve been using Scrivener for a long time and I’ve found it to be the best app for writing projects. In recent years, I’ve also adopted Drafts, Obsidian, and iA Writer.

A simple "what it does" evaluation of a system, is not a very systemic assessment of a 'system'. To be more fully aware of the multi-facetted 'outcomes' across the entirety of the system's structure and mechanics, is a better viewpoint to adopt and take away.
