Yeah, proteins are sneaky things. My allergy to latex is related to my mango, walnut & banana allergy. I can have cooked carrots and celery, but not raw - cooking denatures the protein.

I think we missed a huge opportunity to normalize masking as a public health tool. We eradicated an entire strain of the flu with Covid prevention measures. Masking shows respect for those around you. It shows solidarity with the disability community. It shows you value long term health.

Oh, that's so awesome! I lost my dad in '92, and Scott & I got together in 96. My mom liked him but didn't *get* him. An incredibly smart guy from a holler in Tennessee? Confused her. As did his family. But my dad, who loved animals & the land & was v. smart would have understood 100%.

About 65% of our population is 15-64. Living memories we've lost: WW1 & Great Depression (My grandparents), WW2 (my parents) Disappearing: Cold War, Civil Rights Movement, NIXON ffs. How many today were adults during Reagan? 1990 was 36 yrs ago. Memories are frangible.
