Thank you @huffpost.com for this great piece by @mwadzeckkraus.bsky.social, with quotes by @txfreedomread.bsky.social’s Anne Russey and me.
Little wishes she had recognized the early warning signs as the conflict unfolded in Llano.
"Censorship doesn't come in waving a bright red flag, announcing itself," she said. "It marches in slowly. Through emails.
Through conversations. Through small actions that people might think, 'Oh, it's OK to go along with this one little thing."

Great reporting here by @haajrah.bsky.social in the @expressnews.com. She importantly notes that they are targeting books that “she and Patrick call violations of state law.” No library books have been found to be illegal via the court system, folks.
The state senate leader was joined by conservative activist Bonnie Wallace, a member of the Christian group Recover America who has traveled across the state
to highlight what she and Patrick call violations of a state law that went into
effect last year mandating school districts pull books with "indecent," "profane" or
"sexually explicit" content from their libraries.
