Beautiful day to enjoy the UNGA #bikeNYC bike lane adjustments on 1st Ave (Tunnel only, surface street is closed), and 2nd Ave (bike lane is shifted one lane further from the curb. Creating multi-block no-stopping zones makes the bike lanes more pleasant.

First Ave northbound bike lane to tunnel at UN.

Second Ave bike lane is moved.12 feet to the right and very clear. Green bike lane is kept available for police and security teams.

I also worry about thieves and vandals stripping bicycle parts, especially easy to remove rechargeable electronics (lights, computer, camera, bags of shopping from prior stops on ). Such theft risk makes clunky bike-share bikes relatively more attractive for short faire des courses trips.
