Pearl & Marina were originally based on rap-duo “Outkast”. The two met with Nintendo over the usage of their likeness, but the meeting ended abruptly due to a "bad fishing pun". André 3000 later stated in an interview “they wanted to call us ‘The Out-Casts.’ It made me sick.”

As part of a marketing stunt, Namco released scratch-and-sniff variants of the Pac-Man arcade cabinet with a green ghost named "Stinky". The vomit-inducing scent drove players away, leading to the character's removal. A green ghost, Funky, would later debut in Pac-Mania (1987).

In an early draft of Portal 2's story, Cave Johnson was named "Richard Johnson." Geoff Keighley states this was allegedly changed after numerous developers would start spending less time on the game, mostly laughing at the shortened name, "Dick Cock," instead.

As part of Nintendo's push for online services on the Wii, one of the many applications they made was the now-offline "Wii-Woo", which would contact emergency services immediately upon startup. Nintendo stated to only use it in a real "Wii-mergency".

DOOM '98 Imagined what if id Software released an additional entry in the Doom series in 1998, using a technological mix between id Tech 2 and GoldSrc engine. Going for the blend of fantastical and grounded, which would be in vein of Half-Life and System Shock 2.

When playing Donkey Kong Country Returns, you may notice that Donkey Kong never clips through platforms even when he logically should. The secret is that Donkey Kong does not actually exist on the same plane of reality as the rest of the game, and is merely superimposed on top of it.

In a platformer with 3D models but a 2D plane of movement, a semisolid platform is usually something the player must clip through when jumping on it. While a fully 2D platformer can just draw the character in front of it, in a 3D platformer both the character and the platform occupy the same space.
However, in Donkey Kong Country Returns, Donkey Kong somehow never visibly clips through anything. Note how he jumps up seemingly in front
of the flower, but ends up in the middle of it? How did he not clip through it on the way up?
The secret is that Donkey Kong does not actually exist on the same plane of reality as the rest of the game. His model is rendered with a separate camera and a 2D image of him is superimposed onto the game world. This allows him (and Diddy Kong) to be drawn over semisolid platforms as he jumps in front of them. For special occasions like death, he does enter the 3D plane.

we're getting kicked out of our house, and no one's able to help because they're useless. I don't know what else to do other than ask for help. Please. We're at our wits end. ko-fi.com/stup201

By the end of next month, we're going to be kicked out of our house. Our landlord is selling the house, and our extended family cannot and will not help because we should've been saving money, despite the only things we buy are food and utilities. We're trying to go to court to argue that we need more time to find a new place, but I do not know how well that will go.

None of us have been able to find a job. My cousin is still in school, and my grandma is sick and might pass out from the stress of it all. I'm at my wits end as well, I don't know what else to do.

Please, donate anything. Anything at all will help in someway, I have to think that. I feel terrible for asking something like this, but nothing else has worked. Nothing else will work.

Please help us.
