I have started @tweedpipe.bsky.social latest book. For me always an exhilarating experience in which complete bafflement takes turns with startling clarity and recognition. I don’t know anyone who writes like him but am in awe of his amazement at everything he sees and experiences.

Honored by this generous, in-depth, and thoughtful review. Foster deems the book, "A sage, companionable and fulgent meditation on how best to be human," adding that "The prescription is simple: live like a tree.” Here here!

From the author of one of my all-time favorite books, Being a Beast, where the author immerses himself in the lifestyles and habits of various British animals. If you haven’t read this book, I strongly suggest you would benefit from its narratives and wisdom.

Long-form, good read about what it means to be human (and more-than-human), filled with prompts derived from science, paleontology, various faiths, literature, and more. If you’re questing to find your place in this universe, set aside time to take this relatively quick journey.

Is it better to be on the edge or in the centre? In this eccentric essay, the polymath Charles Foster puts forward a controversial thesis: edges are where all the good stuff happens, from evolution to human creativity – even if the centre people try to convince us otherwise
