Thanks! It'll be a fun comparison I feel like, especially because people's glowing reviews of the film are a big reason I bumped it up my reading list lol.

Thanks so much, my friend! Glowing movie reviews from cool folks like yourself definitely bumped the book up my reading list! lol.

Oh! I bet that's really good too! I hadn't even thought of that.

Finished up reading Project Hail Mary. Well worth it! Delightfully nerdy, occasionally humorous, plenty of mystery, tension, and twists -- hard to go wrong with this one! It gets a lot of praise, and I can totally see why! Looking forward to watching this year's movie to see how it compares.

Pretty sure this game was the turning point where Robotnik just gave up and started going by Eggman from there on out lol.

Don't blame ya, man! The rest of the year is pretty friggin' stacked lol. But I think my top 3 I'm looking forward to the rest of 2026 are probably this, Zelda Ocarina Remake and Rayman Legends Retold.

Yeah, I definitely found Life Force the more entertaining of the two, but Gradius laid down a nice framework. LF has more varied environments and the swaps between horizontal and vertical levels in its favor though.

I hear that! lol. The determination it took to go up against merciless games like this. Still pretty fun at the end of the day though.

🎮 TTrom 🎮 @ttromplaysgames.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

Tried a couple of classic NES shoot 'em ups -- Gradius and Life Force -- back-to-back. And I just gotta say: if you beat either of these games back in the 80s/90s without emulation, know that you have my utmost respect! I had fun, sure, but only because good ol' Rewind had my back lol.

I got a couple new Funkos. I don’t get a lot of these anymore but I like to grab one for my birthday and Christmas. They still make me smile when I look at them on my shelf 😃

A couple of new Funko Pops I just got of Lara Croft and Astro Bot with Barkster.

Modern game console be like: "Oh, you wanted to put in a game and play, like, *right away*? Sorry, fam. Should've bought an NES."

No problem! Same here. I have a feeling I'll definitely be trying at least one of them at some point. They both look appealing and I love supporting indie devs!

If you're anything like me, you enjoy seeing a new indie, top-down Zelda-like enter the scene. And as it turns out, *two* of them dropped pretty recently: Isle of Reveries & Draco and the Seven Scales. I haven't tried either myself yet, but the mere fact that they're a thing makes me quite happy.

This was the way I truly dove into FF1 (or really any FF, if I'm being honest) or the first time as well. And I wound up having a really good time with it. Hope you enjoy!

It was neat! Really awesome to see what the fan community of a game or series is capable of. And now people have the option to play this game without forced motion control, which is a plus lol.

Recently tried out Project Reignition, a fan-made PC remake of Sonic and the Secret Rings. As far as 3D Sonics go, I still find Secret Rings itself very... okay. It's fine lol. Great music though, as per usual. But this fan project *does* provide nice control modernizations & graphical upgrades!

Personal runner-ups for me would probably be Metroid Ravenous and that new Stage Fright game. I don't play Metroid too often, but I always respect when a new one drops. And as far as Stage Fright goes, anything new from the Overcooked devs is automatically gonna get my attention lol.

All caught up on the latest Nintendo news. So nice to see how many of y'all are excited for stuff! I'd say my highlights are Ocarina Remake & Kirby. I'm in the minority that thinks most of the new OoT aesthetic looks pretty good, and open-world Kirby sounds like it could be interesting.

Hey, Bsky fam. Been a hot minute since I checked in. August had a lot of emotions attached to it, but y'know, I'm still hangin' in there. Starting the Dungeon Crawler Carl book series has helped. Some of y'all spoke highly of it & I can see why! Strong "Lit-RPG" vibes for sure, and I'm hooked.
