My hope for the Eagles season was really based on an elite defense keeping them afloat while the offense found itself. Unfortunately the defense just hasn’t been that good so far. And now all these injuries. Not feeling optimistic about today, but hoping things can improve as the season goes on.

Still playing through Control Resonant. Pretty big game it seems. I have quite a list to come back to when I’m done (included some October releases): -Onimusha (75% done this one) -Wolverine -Ghost of Yotei DLC -Gears: E-Day -Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse -Isle of Reveries -Well Dweller

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

I kind of forgot that the new Gears game was coming out this year. I can’t say I’ve been all that enthused about a prequel, but I’m sure I’ll have a good time with it. Reviews are even a bit higher than I expected.

Pretty exciting news: I got the promotion I was going for! I found out I passed the interview last week and signed the offer letter today! I actually start next week! I am a little nervous, but mostly excited 😃

Tough watch tonight 😩

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

Great finish to the half. Jalen has been fantastic this year. Nice to see some success on the under center outside zone with Barkley too. Otherwise a frustrating game so far. Can’t believe how much Keenum has been dicing this defense up.

Big oof of a first quarter here 🤦🏻‍♂️

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Wow what a finish 🏈🤯

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

I got a couple new Funkos. I don’t get a lot of these anymore but I like to grab one for my birthday and Christmas. They still make me smile when I look at them on my shelf 😃

A couple of new Funko Pops I just got of Lara Croft and Astro Bot with Barkster.

My first impression of Control Resonant was that the three big changes (protagonist, combat style, and setting) are things where I generally preferred the alternatives in Control 1. Ten plus hours in, I still sort of feel that way, but I’m just having a really great time regardless.

Some cool birthday gifts I got this year 😃

A Lego set of two floating otters. It is adorable.

A little gaming themed 3-in-1 Lego set. Might build the little arcade machine variant instead of the main handheld one since I already have the actual Gameboy Lego set.

A giant Lego skeleton figure my brother made me on his 3D printer with a soda can for scale. It is probably about three soda cans tall.

I had such a good birthday yesterday. I went to a mini-golf/arcade thing with one of my besties. I had my favorite Chinese food. I got some really cool gifts (I’ll share these once I get some pictures). I played a lot of Control Resonant. And I found out I passed the job interview I had last week 😃

It is my birthday today. I am usually a little sad on my birthday but I have tried to start being happier on them the past couple years. I took the next week off because it has been a stressful summer and am hoping to do a few things with friends. I will post about whatever I get up to on here 🎂😃

New Chvrches song today. A good day 🎶🥰

I got to start up Control Resonant — my most anticipated game of the year — before work this morning. And after this afternoon I will have a week off of work 😃

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

I’ve been excited for this one, but didn’t realize it released this week. I really liked Crypt Custodian. I’m going to work this into the rotation before year’s end for sure 🎮😃

These yellow Rams jerseys do not need to exist.

I’ll take it 😂🏈🦅😃

Not an ideal third quarter!

000

Eagles are dominating this game but that interception really made a huge swing in the score. Much closer than it should be. I like the much more sustained offensive drives this week though. Hopefully they pull away in the second half!

000

Forgot to say this an hour ago… Go Birds 🏈🦅😃

I was really hoping to finish Onimusha by the time Control Resonant came out, but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen. And I’m going to be jumping into Control immediately. I hope I am able to return to finish Onimusha before the year is out because I’ve liked what I have played so far.

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

Slow Horses is back! Love this show 😃

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

The boss fights have been the clear highlight of Onimusha so far. Well those and the lion dogs of course 🎮🥰

I think I have listened to the new Phoebe Bridgers album everyday since it came out about a month ago. I really love this album 🎶🥰

My fave band Chvrches have started doing some teasing of their fifth album this past week! Hyped 🎶😃

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Well a win is a win. Good defensive day. Figured the offense would take some time to get going this season, but the O-line looked rough today which is concerning. Hopefully they clean that up. Anyway, I am happy Eagles football is back! Go Birds 🏈🦅😃

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

Really hyped to watch the Eagles today. Especially to see how this new offense looks. Also cool that they are showing the Bills here in the 1PM slot. They’re my brother’s team so I can watch them with him 🏈😃

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Everyone should watch this ridiculous pass. I love football 🏈😂

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

My plan is to focus on Onimusha and hopefully finish it before Control Resonant releases (which is my big game for the Fall). I’ll probably wait to play Wolverine until after Control because I don’t like to play similar melee action games at once as I’ll mix up the controls 😂

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

The first 40 or so minutes of Onimusha were kind of rough. It would let you play for like 30 seconds and then do another cutscene. But the couple hours since then have been pretty cool. I have played two bosses and now seem to be in a little hub area. Having a lot of fun now.

I just love seeing my timeline filled with cool football stats, play breakdowns, reactions and of course dots! I’ve missed this 🏈😃

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

Fred Warner is so good. On my short list for best defensive player in the league. Fun to watch him running around making plays again.

001

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Awful decision by Maye there at the end. And that Seahawks defense still rules. Glad to have NFL football back 🏈😃

Matt @tripopt55.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

There was a time when I’d never imagine that a game could lose this much juice because of an injured Sam Darnold but here we are 🏈🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve been kind of mixed on so many of Nintendo’s series taking a more open approach, but I think I like it for Kirby because that is a series that isn’t about challenging platforming, so I feel I won’t miss the linearity as much. I like how they are using the copy abilities for traversal too.

160

Most hyped for Kirby out of that. I like the free Mario Kart update too (though I’d still like to see a more substantial expansion at some point). And I’m looking forward to the new Metroid as well. Not that far off either.

Watching the Nintendo Direct and as always hoping for a Luigi’s Mansion 4 announcement 🎮😃

020

I started up the new Onimusha. This is one of those, “I don’t know much about it, but it sounds like it’s good, so I might as well rent it” games for me. Only played a bit, but it has a sillier tone than I expected. Looking forward to diving in more when I get the chance.

That Link and Epona LEGO set is the first Zelda LEGO set that really appeals to me. Looks like a nice display piece. Still hope they eventually do a minifigure scale set that grabs me more than the ones they’ve done so far.

Not totally sure about the artstyle. Some things worked better in the style than others. Kind of got used to it the more I watched though. Some bits definitely looked stunning. Some nice changes in there too. Looking forward to playing this again. One of my favorite Zeldas still 🎮😃

Isle of Reveries | Trailer 3

There are few things I love as much as a Zelda-like and this one (Isle of Reveries) slipped by me. Looks really cool. Swamped with games this month, but probably going to just buy it now and play it when things slow down 🎮😃
