Finally finished my 1st @every-topps-card.bsky.social set 1987 Topps. Hopefully just the 1st of many. Next up will probably be 82 and 89.

It's not the most expensive IRL, but I just pulled my new favorite card in my @every-topps-card.bsky.social @gritz.bsky.social collection.

One of my favorite things about digitizing peoples old home movies is coming across old baseball games and trying to figure out exactly which game it was. The announcement on the scoreboard made this one pretty easy. Mets/Phillies July 25th 1965. www.nytimes.com/1965/07/26/a...

I used to re-read the entire x-wing series every couple years, but now I just do a rogue pod re-listen instead. I love the books, but listening to you all talk about them is way more fun than just reading them again. Plus, where else could I hear about winking Emtrey

It's beat up and not really worth anything, but probably my favorite comic I own. It's been over 30 years, but I still remember checking the mail every day waiting for it to come in.

I've got this George Foster signed baseball that came from a box of playoff absolute memorabilia years ago. I'd love for it to go to a Reds fan instead of spending another 20 years in a box in my closet.

You can definitely tell it's hand done. Lots of little differences, and a couple big ones, between the same letters on the different team names. I love the way they all look, that was one of my favorite templates to work on.

I got a notification yesterday about the Niners beating the Giants and thought i missed the game until I saw it was google AI making stuff up. The score it made up is looking kinda familiar though

I love when people bring old film in to get developed, and I get to add a cool older film cassette to my little collection. It's almost always kodak b&w stuff, so it was cool to see an older Ilford come in this time.

Pretty cool #MailDay. 2 cards I had in my etopps account that I completely forgot I bought. Georges St-Pierre and Dan Henderson UFC rookies. Nice number on the Hendo and super close on the GSP too. #CardSky

I've gotta pick up more Tittle cards. I've got a bunch of Montanas and Youngs, but my PC is definitely lacking when it comes to the original Niner HoF QB. My best card of him doesn't even mention the Niners 😢

They made 35th anniversary cards in 2024 topps with the 1989 design. The Rays and Guardians fit with the originals, but Rockies, Marlins, and Diamondbacks are really bad, none of the letters actually match the 1989, and the L, K, and S are completely wrong

100

Sloopster @tsloop.com · 30/12/2024

They all look great, and a million times better than what topps ended up using. For the guardians I was thinking mostly using the cardinals would be the easiest way. This was a super quick version with bad edges, but something like this

Sloopster @tsloop.com · 22/12/2024

Spent too long trying to find the right 84 Topps team name font, every one that was close had a few letters that were completely wrong. It doesn't help that the 4 & 5 letter names are different. Anyway, I just made my own font, here it is if anyone wants it #cardsky drive.google.com/file/d/1HjHR...

070

Sloopster @tsloop.com · 22/12/2024

Nice, for the names futura condensed was the best I could find, the letter shapes are super close, the spacing isn't exactly right though. I also couldn't for the life of me find the correct team name font, either the N, Y, or S was always wrong. So I just went ahead and made my own font, haha

Started making a 1996 Topps baseball template, then got sidetracked. I forgot all about the Star Power subset & how sweet it looks. Decided to make to make all 4 versions, the base, power booster, chrome, and refractor. And what better subject than a man who literally gets power from a star #cardsky

My favorite part of running a film lab is definitely not the actual developing, it's getting to mess around with the machines. Building racks for the processors feels like grown up legos
