On Mig-29s. Some of the airframes in the count are Mig-29UBs (Uchebno-boyevoy, i.e., trainer), and they are nay impossible to tell apart from the regular Mig-29s on sat imagery.

3. Su-27, Su-30, Su-34 and Su-35 are grouped due to airframe similarities. 4. Significant numbers of combat and transport aircraft overall, but only two 'decent' A-50s. The A-50s that appear the worse for wear are disregarded.

A further count of selected Russian military aircraft as per the dates indicated, with accompanying notes. 1. Warspotting losses have been accounted for. 2. A big drop in Mig-29s vs the previous count due to an airframe quality reassessment (e.g., Lipetsk).

4/6 Tu-95. Applying the same logic here, the total ‘decent’ visible airframes number 87, less nine per Warspotting since 1 June 2025, equals 78.

2/6 Tu-22M. Total ‘decent’ visible airframes number 51 as at the dates indicated. Mind you, previously I counted as viable those with all the parts attached. Now I consider the quality of airframes a factor, see comparison. The faded, dirty-looking airframes are disregarded, courtesy of hackmyth.

Well done! You're doing it! Yes, I've counted 61 of the forest green ones, and then I think these ones, but it's not very clear... If it's possible, I'll try to ID the other ones and post an update.

leoskyview.bsky.social has pointed out the unidentified Planoviy pieces could be from the 40s/50s, and I think he is 100% right. I think what we can't ID are a combination of these - guns built in the 30s, 40s and 50s. On this basis, Planoviy takes the status of a museum.

2/4 The base doesn't appear to have changed in either quantity or composition since then. There are indeed quite a lot of unidentifiable pieces, such as this guy here, for which there isn't even a Wikipedia entry. Curiously, it seems to be in excellent condition.

1/4 Planoviy 30 cm of 13 May 2026. By far Russia’s largest towed artillery storage base. If I remember correctly, Highmarsed was the one who did an ID and count of pieces at the base last year. Vantor-30cm © 2026 Vantor

Rubtsovskiy 30 cm of 16 Aug 2026. I have previously theorised that there are likely not many BMP-1/2 hulls left here, but I was mistaken. The image was 10 m by Spot, which isn't ideal. I am not sure if Rubtsovskiy is active, but I believe these BMP-1/2s are junk. Vantor-30cm © 2026 Vantor

1/3 Using this post by Jake Epstein x.com/byjepstein/s..., I’ve compared the before and after on three out of Russia’s five Black Sea Fleet frigates. Comparative imagery by GE.

4/4 3. Why now? Drones have been a problem for Russian tanks pretty much the entirety of this war, so why cease using them en-masse now, all of a sudden? Also, the steady decline in use has been very obvious for over two years now. From Warspotting, total tank losses.

Why thank you, though I don't consider myself an expert at all :) The barrels would likely be removed inside a workshop, and the otherwise-useless turret (assuming they deem it useless) is tossed outside. I notice many are without barrels and with open hatches and engine blocks sitting outside.

1/2 I was tossing between “Guys, don’t forget to sweep up when you’re done” and “Furthermore confirmation that Russia is indeed overhauling and producing a lot of armour” to scribe what I’m seeing. I’ve settled on “Russia to resume production of T-80 tanks”. Vantor-15cm © 2026 Vantor

Two more BTRZs on order - Omsk and 103rd. 15 and 30 cm resolution, so should be quite good! Figured we'd get a little BTRZ update.

5/7 80th. Approximate decent count below. They appear to maintain a stable count through the last year or so. I do not think any of these pieces have or will see combat, and estimate that they will remain a non-depletable strategic artillery reserve.

Truth Warrior @truthwarrior2.bsky.social · 04/07/2026
1/7 First up, the total count. You will have to forgive me, I didn’t count the self-propelled mortars or towed artillery. 94th and 80th together account for ~80% of Russia’s stored SPGs, and I wanted to just focus on these.

904th 50cm of 13 June 2026. Not much change since the last update. I assume some tanks, a lot of transport, some MT-LBs and BTRs/BMPs. Hard to tell from the resolution. Pleiades © 2026 Airbus

UVZ of 3 May 2026. ~393 visible tanks in total vs 417 as of 28 Feb 2028, of which 15 are departing on a train appearing refurbished. They're working their way through the backlog at this BTRZ, I can tell you that much. Pleiades © 2026 Airbus

Here's the evidence I'd expect to see: www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6Ud... ura.news/news/1052908... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vass... VS what we actually see - assembly and refurbishment.

Truth Warrior @truthwarrior2.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
Regarding 349th, it appears they've simply moved the tanks and BMPs around the base a touch is all - particularly these two sections in red (from GE). Simple housekeeping.

Truth Warrior @truthwarrior2.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
So, the fact that Jompy takes Russian propaganda at face value is linked to him fervently and stubbornly believing Russia is manufacturing tanks and IFVs except BMDs and BMP-3s. To be clear, manufacturing in my understanding is from scratch, not assembly from Soviet hulls and spares.
220
Truth Warrior @truthwarrior2.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
I presume Jompy means this section here. Well, I honestly don't see how ~78 tanks in faded yellow is proof of refurbishment or production of a lot of hardware. What a clown.

Indeed, "furthermore" proof of copium. The vatnik can ID a freshly-made tank from sat imagery that has been sent back to open-air storage in Siberia. Wow.

80th 50cm of 15 Feb 2026. With the exception of the 2s9 SPMs, which have grown considerably, I see no change since July of 2025 in either SPGs or towed artillery. Apart from 7049th, it would appear 80th is the only base storing some viable SPGs. I have long suggested that 94th is a junker.

Truth Warrior @truthwarrior2.bsky.social · 28/02/2026
UVZ 50cm of 28 Feb 2026. I've counted ~417 tanks vs 482 as of 4 Nov 2025 per Covert, a drop of 65 in four months. Too early to draw any definitive conclusions, but I will mention that one tank withdrawn from storage doesn't necessarily equal one refurbed working tank. 12 Aug 2025 for reference.

Truth Warrior @truthwarrior2.bsky.social · 28/02/2026
7049th 50cm of 25 Feb 2026. Basically, no significant change since 24 July 2025. Some 2S19s and - I think - 2S3s. The rest appears to be transport and engineering.

Truth Warrior @truthwarrior2.bsky.social · 06/02/2026
Rubtsovskiy BTRZ 10m of 11 Jan and 31 Jan 2026 vs GE of 23 May 2025. No discernible change between the Januaries, but a significant thinning out vs GE. In fact, I would even suggest that the specs we are seeing are possibly leftover scrap.
160
Truth Warrior @truthwarrior2.bsky.social · 05/02/2026
904th 1.5m of 4 Feb 2026. I've counted 37 tanks inside the red section, assuming that they are indeed tanks, as they have been in the past, and that they aren't keeping more elsewhere at this base. As far as tanks, the base is certainly not growing vs previous imagery.

Truth Warrior @truthwarrior2.bsky.social · 01/02/2026
Yeah, no, the Russians are definitely producing new steel hull AFVs and have totally not run out of the Soviet stocks they could afford to lose. Because of course utility trucks have superior snow grip to tracked vehicles 🤦‍♂️
091
Truth Warrior @truthwarrior2.bsky.social · 20/01/2026
Probably stating the obvious here, but at these rates of losses, you'd think it's the Battle of Kursk every day... 🤔🤨

Truth Warrior @truthwarrior2.bsky.social · 31/12/2025
Russian turtle tank numbers registered on Warspotting as percentages of total registered losses, by month, over the past two years. An obvious strong upward trend since turtle tanks began to appear in May 2024, and a further illustration of the deterioration of Russia's tank fleet.

904th mid-res of 25 Nov 2025. I've counted ~50 tanks, that's about all I could realistically ID. UVZ has 482 visible as of 4 Nov 2025 (per Covert/Jompy), most likely awaiting repairs/cannibalisation. I do believe other BTRZs and storage bases have nothing viable left at this point.
0102
Truth Warrior @truthwarrior2.bsky.social · 12/12/2025
Rubtsovskiy low-res of 30 Nov 2025. A considerable thinning out in the central section where the BMP-1/2s were kept for - presumably - repairs. Mid-res of 28 July 2025 for comparison. Other than 904th, there really isn't much else in the way of worthwhile BMP-1/2s left anywhere, in my view.

904th - 1.5m pic of 27 Aug 2025 (left) and 20 Aug 2025 (right). There are around 50 of what I’m sure are tanks, but the section to the left there - might be tanks, or it might be something else. Also, moral of the story is: don’t rely on low-res imagery.

1/3 Alright, I'm now trying to keep an eye on UVZ - a BTRZ that's seemingly not been really looked at this war. 30cm pic of 12 Aug 2025.

904th low-res imagery of 12 Aug 2025 (with cloud & shadow) vs 8 July 2025 + medium-res of 6 July 2025 for comparison. I am not seeing any tanks here anymore, and the base itself is looking quite a bit thinner than before.
