Love the new (optional!) Firefox icon in the latest update. It really does make the web more playful like it used to be

Tech news is just depressing nowadays. RAMocalypse. Data leaks. AI ruined another thing. Surveillance. Now I go to engineering news for the cool stuff. Tech might as well be dead.

It’s late at night where I live and when they started playing Take me home country roads I thought that was the US anthem for a sec. It’s a good contender if you wanna change it!

Patricia quickly became my favorite character after the cocktail event! Every scene with her is so funny

This app is measuring anti engagement as a metric (well kinda, more on that later). It’s still using dark patterns but for good. Use your phone less and you’ll get rewarded with a dopamine hit. Sadly it’s only limited to a specific timeframe, and sadly it’s still manipulating you through streaks.

Really wish we stopped using engagement as a metric for success. This is how we got the emotional manipulation that is called app streaks. Dark UX patterns are everywhere!

Did a little oopsie today. Now I've learned that I'm supposed to do the small changes locally on my computer AND THEN deploy. Because if I keep deploying after every change it will reach the usage limit very fast :))))

You know what? Shoutout to aerogels. If we manage to mass produce it in a viable way it can be a game changer for cleaning up ocean oil spills (among many many other applications)

Can’t really explain what this mission has made me feel. Hope and inspiration is not enough. I’m actually starting to believe everything’s gonna be alright. It’s made me curious about the unfamiliar, made me see new things, change perspective on life. I feel like a kid again in the best of ways.

the line i copy pasted used curly quotes instead of straight quotes. That's enough coding for today. For future reference this is the line if your CSS file is named style.css and in the same folder as your index file: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css">
